Becoming an orthopedic surgeon has been my lifelong dream because it allows me to combine my two passions, medicine and sports. Having been involved in sports all of my life has given me a unique perspective on the impact injuries can have on anyone at any age. Athletic injuries often lead to chronic problems, including chronic pain and the development of arthritis. I specialize in returning these individuals to their active lifestyle, whether it involves ligament reconstruction or joint replacement. The advice I give my patients is to get and stay as healthy as you can. Eat a healthy diet and exercise often. Just about everyone can and should get involved in some kind of physical activity, whether walking, bike riding, dancing or skiing. If joint pain is keeping you from exercise, it's time to visit an orthopedic surgeon. Remember: A body in motion, stays in motion.

Dr. Brooks completed a total hip replacement for me. I was the youngest patient at the time, he had ever done a total replacement on (I was 41 at the time) and he was an excellent doctor. Very caring and compassionate. I felt he really listened to me when so many other doctors/surgeons I consulted with did not. He was able to realize that my situation was very real and surgery was the only option. If it were not for Dr. Brooks, I would not be able to walk, dance, and enjoy life. Thank you Dr. Brooks.

My husband (age 53) had his total hip done through Dr Brooks. He has done so many procedures that his office staff and surgical staff are a well oiled machine. He spent a lot of time explaining the procedure, the pre and post processes and he used the Joint Replacement Program at VacaValley which I would also highly recommend. The ONLY critism I have about Dr Brooks and his staff is that no one from his office called to check on my husbacnd after the surgery ever. But we had Home Health and PT, so I'm assuming he felt that was adequate. Overall, a really great experience with a positive outcome.
