Dr. Andrew James Harbison, DO

My husband, age 83 was in a car accident. After receiving emergency care at the hospital we were told to follow up with his primary physician ASAP as a serious finding from his test results were found. I called Harbison’s office and was given an appointment for that same day for 3:50 pm. We arrived at the appointment before time but were told the appointment had been scheduled for an hour earlier, which wasn’t true. The appointment was scheduled with the physician assistant. She refused to see my husband. I was told to take him back to the ER if he was in pain. We had just left the ER 10 hours ago. He was in terrible pain. After more than 20 years as a patient of this office, I was appalled to be treated in this matter. Whatever happened to the Hippocratic Oath? While this was on the Friday before Memorial Day, I am sure everyone in the office was anxious to start their holiday weekend, my husband’s aneurysm would need to wait! Let this story speak for itself.

I got booted from his practice, for missing too many appointments. I wrote the guy a bad review, because I was mad. In my defense, they don’t send reminders, but as an adult, it’s my responsibility to check on stuff like that. He’s a good guy, and a good doctor.

I am a former patient of Dr. Harbison. Remember folks, doctors are mere human beings and not gods. This doctor actually told me in one visit that he should not have to worry about the immense paper work involved with insurance and the ideal scenario would be cash pay patients. Okay, what does that tell you. Also when a practice gets so big that you only see the second tier help, you are in trouble. So if you are in the hospital, it will be the hospitalists really treating you. When the practice was small it was ideal. Of course, we need large groups to pay malpractice insurance, and of course make money. Think about this before going to a group where you can not see your doctor. But is that what medicine is fast becoming. Immediate Care spaces, Mash... and then your doctor who will see you once a year. Reality check.

Dr. Andrew Harbison has the worst bedside manner ever. He spent more time looking at his lap top computer than listening to my Mother who I brought in for a check up. We had many concerns about her health. Kept looking at his watch. There are plenty of good Dr.'s in Western New York. Skip this one.

It is always difficult to call in and make an appointment. I have to basically call all day as the line is always busy. I am sure the office is very busy, but I am suspicious when the line is busy for hours at a time. When I do make an appointment, I never actually see Dr. Harbison as it is always a PA.

Dr. Harbison and his staff of PAs and RNs are outstanding.

Dr. Harbison is an exceptional doctor and a wonderful human being. I can always trust his diagnosis. His staff is also friendly and professional.

I have never been treated so poorly . The practice ONLY cares about the money. There so quick to call about appointments, BUT never call when you have a concern or question. I would rather have a small practice that cares about the patient than the money. NEVER would recommend that practice to anyone!! I would never give them 1 star but got stuck having to.

This is one of the best doctors I have ever seen. However I cannot get an appointment with him. At this office, you almost always only get to see the physician's assistants - who have great personalities but lack medical knowledge beyond treating normal things like sinus infections. It took 1 year and 8 months for me to book an annual appointment (What happens if on that day I or one of my kids are too sick to go? It would be another 6 months wait which means at least 2 years before I can get a physical with him!) In fact, the office staff - who are very competent, friendly, patient - told me they can't even book an appointment with him because their computer calendars do not go that far in the future. So even though this doctor and office staff are exceptional (with the exception of the P.A.s who have yet to learn their limitations resulting in serious errors) , what good is it if you can NOT see the doctor?? And as a side note, why are they excepting new patients when they… can't treat their own?

primary care of western ny is the best and the most amazing medical office i have ever dealt with in all my life. theyare caring, compassionate and the ultimate professionals. dr. andrew harbison is awesome. i love pcny and dr. andrew harbison. they treat me like solid gold. i look forward to many moreyears of being a patient of pcny.god bless.
