Dr. Andrew James Ray, DO

Being over 300 miles from home, and admitted through the ER at Lakes Region General Hospital, I landed in the excellent hands of Dr. Andrew Ray. Given the chance to be able to select a doctor - I'd choose him again. On of our regular trips to the lake, the abdominal pain I was experiencing sent me rushing to the LRGH. The next morning, I meet Dr. Ray and by noon I was on the mend. He met me in pre-op and explained everything that was going to happen. He visited with me post-op that day and everyday during my week-long stay. He has an excellent bedside manner that is very thorough and assuring. He fixed me and I am so thankful that fate crossed our paths. He is a smart and caring doctor, surrounded by a wonderful staff at LRGH. I just had extensive colon resection due to numerous diverticulitis flares and perferation over the course of 2 years.I made the choice to see Dr Andrew Ray a surgeon who is part of LRGH Hospital.since that time I've had office visits that were informative with a definitive plan to resolve my issues with surgery. After thorough pre-op testing surgery was done with astounding results.i was up and walking on day 1.Dr Ray was attentive and checked on my well being throuout my stay. A fter a short stay at LRG hospital I feel like I have my health back.Also the staff/nurses/nusing assistant's were phenomenal..shout-out to nurses Haley and Erika.

Dr. Ray is very thorough with his care and treatment. He is patient focused and genuinely concerned about each person he takes care of. I brought my 15 year old daughter to him for a procedure and he made her feel at ease about it all. Her post op care was great as well. He even reached out over the phone to check in on her. If he has any questions about you or what might be going on with you, he is adamant about running things by other surgeons to make sure you get the best care possible. I can't say enough good things about him. I trust him with my life and the lives of my loved ones. Thank you Dr. Ray!

From the first time you meet him, he comes across in a comforting, non-threatening manner, making you feel comfortable right from the start. I have never experienced a surgeon who truly cares about his patients like Dr. Ray does, taking the extra step and time to make sure that you are ok, and your questions are answered as best as he can. I can't say enough positives about his bedside manner (he's really human!) and his phenomenal skill set that he brings to the community! I wish there were more doctors like him!!!! Thank you Dr. Ray!!!
