Dr. Anjanette Sia Lin Tan, MD

I had an appointment today 6/24 at 1:30. I got there and checked in at 1:33. The called someone in the back and said they couldn't take me because I am late! Three minutes late? I won't ever go back.

My husband, who is currently receiving inpatient care at another facility, had an appointment scheduled for 8:45am. His private ambulance transport arrived at 8:45 and he was in the waiting room at 8:47. They declined to provide treatment for him because his ambulance got him there 2 minutes late. Seek care elsewhere if you're looking for a clinician who is truly interested in providing necessary care to patients in desperate need.

I have nothing but great things to say about Dr Tan and the staff at Diabetes and Thyroid Center of Fort Worth. On my first visit I had a very short wait before I was called to the exam room. The person who took my vitals and my initial information was very thorough, patient, and seemed to genuinely care. Dr Tan's nurse came in next and spent time going over my background and present concerns and was not in a hurry at all. She stayed until she was sure that she had addressed all of my concerns and then went to get the Dr. A few minutes later Dr Tan came in. She listened patiently for me to answer all of her questions. She was very thorough and her bed side manner was excellent. Dr Tan never made me feel like she was rushed or needed to move on to the next patient. She was great. A few days later I realized that I no longer had an active prescription for my glucometer test strips and lancets. I went into the patient portal and sent an email that was answered in about 30 min by… Ryan. He was very quick to respond and less than an hour later I had a prescription at my pharmacy that was in process. I have gotten a quality of care and responsiveness that I thought no longer existed in the medical profession. Thank you Diabetes and Thyroid Center of Fort Worth for the excellent care and responsiveness that I have received.

I realize more than ever that our insurance and medical system is broken, but these last 3 weeks has reinforced it even more. I was diagnosed with Graves disease over 3 weeks ago. Dr. Tan was listed as being in network with my BCBS insurance. I had a referral faxed over, and because my symptoms were severe I also called the office hoping I could get in as soon as possible. As a new patient I was asked to leave a message for the new patient coordinator. The message was pretty terse and said to not leave more than one message, and that their referral process time could take up to 10 days. I left a detailed message, and asked to be called asap. I patiently waited two weeks, ad there was no call. I called, and was told by the office that Dr. Tan and her group were cancelling their contract with BCBS next month. Did the patient coordinator, knowing my diagnosis and knowing I needed to be seen and treated, have the decency or empathy to actually call me and tell me that so I could search for… another doctor? NO!! Just left me hanging and delaying treatment unnecessarily for me for 2 more weeks. I realize that maybe the administrative staff is overworked, but who's fault is that, and whatever happened to a doctor abiding by the hippocratic oath to do no harm. Not following up with an ill patient is unethical and uncaring. Dr. Tan and the rest of her practice should be ashamed. Hire more staff to process new patients, so maybe just maybe you won't leave someone who is ill hanging for two weeks. Irresponsible!!!!

I think it's ridiculous when an existing patient that has been there for years has to wait 4 months for an appointment!

As far as I am concerned, she "saved my life" by helping bring my Type 2 diabetes under complete control!

According to Dr. Tan's website, she treats obesity. My doctor's office sent a referral to her so that she would see me. Dr. Tan's office lost the first two referrals, so my doctor's office ended up sending my chart to them three times before they would actually schedule an appointment. A week before my appointment, I got a call from Dr. Tan's office saying that they no longer treat obesity and had not for a very long time. I suggested they update their website. I wonder how long that will take! This whole process took six weeks, and I still don't have an appointment with a doctor. I am NOT impressed...

She's good.. but we still can figure out my problem...
