Dr. Anna Wachtel has the following 2 specialties
A psychiatrist is a doctor with specific training in the diagnosis and treatment of mental illness.
He or she can not only provide the counseling necessary to both diagnose and treat a patient, but can also prescribe medication when needed. In some cases, a psychiatrist will only provide the medication and the counseling will be provided by another healthcare specialist, like a certified counselor or psychologist.
Like other doctors, psychiatrists employ diagnostic tools like CT scans and MRI in order to observe the structure and function of a patient's brain.
Once a diagnosis is made, these specialists may use behavior or cognitive therapy in order to address the patient's condition, or a multitude of other types of therapy, in conjunction with or in place of medication.
A neurologist is a physician who diagnoses and treats disorders of the nervous system which is comprised of the brain, spinal cord and nerves. These doctors do not perform surgery, but refer patients to neurological surgeons when they determine that surgical intervention is necessary.
Some of the conditions that neurologists diagnose and treat are epilepsy, aneurysms, hydrocephalus, Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, stroke, spinal disc herniation, and spinal disease.
In addition to using diagnostic tests like MRI, CT scans, EEG and EMG, neurologists also employ neurological testing to gauge muscle strength and movement, balance, reflexes, sensation, memory, speech, and other cognitive abilities.

The absolute worst- I wish I could give zero stars. Unprofessional, callous, curt, and completely disconnected from reality. I appreciate that she wanted to be thorough and asked me to get a whole variety of medical tests done (including a neuropsychological exam) before prescribing me the medication I had been successfully taking for 7 years, and when I informed her that my insurance would not cover all of those tests she accused me of only being there to hunt for drugs. False. She only accepts cash for copayments, takes notes on lose pieces of paper, and refuses to use a computerized system to write prescriptions. Seriously, if you have any other option I highly suggest going to literally anyone other than her.
I have seen Dr Wachtel for different life issues in the span of 15 years. I feel well taken care off and understood. I like that she takes the time to find treatment options that work well with medications I have to take for my chronic illness. It might take some time to figure out what's best but it is because every person reacts different. Thanks to Dr Wachtel I can finally go about my day, without any pain, brain fog and anxiety.
When I first started seeing Dr. Wachtel, I was suffering with chronic depression and bipolar disorder. Dr. Wachtel helped me realize that I am able to overcome my illnesses while also leading a normal and productive life, on the right medication. After detoxing me from the medication that my previous psychiatrist hooked me on, she worked with me to find the medication that suited my health and work habits. She is a great listener and gives excellent advice on leading a healthy, happy life. I am grateful for Dr. Wachtel and I wouldn't be as happy as I am today without her treating me.
I did not have a great experience with Dr. Anna Watchel. The only reason I kept seeing her for as long as I did, was because I was desperate to feel better and she took insurance. From my first visit, she is very sweet but had a horrible bedside manner. She is not a good listener! I had taken myself off a medication that my previous doctor prescribed for me because of the horrible side effects I was experiencing. That was a mistake and hence why I was seeking professional help this time! I told her I made a mistake but she still was very accusatory stating that someone in the healthcare field should know better! She also made comments on how my previous doctor had no clue how to prescribe the medication I was on and so on! I do believe that she is very smart and knows her stuff but her ego is seriously inflated. For every side effect of a medication, she offered me another medication to take. At one point I was taking a bunch of other medications to counteract the side effects of that one medication! I really did not feel comfortable with this. If I protested, she would start acting accusatory again. She once forgot we had an appointment after I had shown up and waited 30 minutes for her. She was very apologetic after she realized her mistake and I had to reschedule for another day. I do not recommend Dr. Watchel. After getting therapeutic, I left and found a psychiatrist that actually listens to my concerns and who I am comfortable with!
