Dr. Anne-Marie I Cosijns, MD

I recently was forced to change insurance plans and this doc was not covered. I booked with another doc and the appt is ONLY one month out but I have only 2 wks worth of medication left. I called and asked if this practice would cover the two weeks and their answer was not unless I booked another appt and pd out of pocket for the visit!! I've had this same dilemma with other insurances and the previous docs ALWAYS have given me another prescription to cover the time period until I saw the new doc, no hassle whatsoever. The office manager was rude, refused to compromise, told me what the doc would say (she would insist on an appt), even tho he had not spoken with her. He accused me of putting the doc in a bind if she were to write me a rx without seeing me, mind you I had just seen the doc 1.5 wks prior! DO NOT GO TO THIS PRACTICE! If you are ever put in a bind like I am now, they will NOT work with you! This practice is all about the money, not what is best for their patients. Avoid at… all costs!

Dr. Cosijns definitely gets right to the point but she spends A LOT of time with you. I can tell she honestly cares about good medicine because she has always cared to find as many facts about my health issues as possible. She has found medications to help relieve my pain and discomfort more than any other doc I've been to. Her staff is great and very caring -- I appreciate them almost as much as Dr. Cosijns.

Dr. Cosijns and Sanel are excellent Doctors and their staff is unbeatable, they always call before an appointment and after a procedure. They have worked hard to find a way to keep my pain manageable.

It's hard enough to be in pain, without having to explain over and over again to someone, what you are going through. cosijns did not listen to me. She had made up her mind before she even met me! When asked what level of pain I was in, I said 9.( Now don't judge me you aren't walking in my shoes.) She freaked out and started putting me down saying ,"If you were a 9 you would be crawling in here! and couldn't even make it in! I tried to stay as composed as I could, with that put down. I don't know what she is thinking, but most people with a lot of pain, have to deal with pain every day, and don't always "show" an out ward scream of pain! Those of us in pain try to walk with our head held high and show some dignity. She made me feel like I was lying. It took a long time to get this appointment, and I walked out with more pain(after exam) then when I walked in. It took her another month to prescribe me med. I told her what med I was on, with my last pain dr. and that I have been off… that med for almost a year. I was hoping not to have to be on any meds. Any one that has been on pain meds know how you try not to have to take anything, but sometimes your body just hurts so bad you can't do everyday chores and work. I also have other pain issues with pin like pain on my feet and hands...... instead of prescribing me what I was on before, and has worked for me, she prescribed me a med that got me so sick, I couldn't hold food in. She also put me down while examining me, I'm not fat, I just had very big kids! she said "your arms and legs are thin, but you could live off of your belly fat! cosijns, that is extra stretch skin from having 10 lb baby's . excuse me for not having a tummy tuck! She did the pressure test for fibromyalgia, I already told her I knew I had it, have known for years, and had Drs notes, she didn't even know what meds I took, and sounded shocked after blood test, You have to fill info abot meds etc before seeing her, she was 45min late for my appt. I talked to Robin to tell her I got sick with cosijns med. I wasn't scheduled for another 2 months to see her. I don't want meds that make me sick, when I already know what helps me, I'm concerned about side effects, Robin says but they are fda approved! even tylanol has side effects. I'm sorry but I don't have time to try out "new" drugs that cost an arm and a leg, to "see" if that works! They are so busy trying to be right, that they put people down. and don't listen!!!!!! I call her cosijns, Being a Dr. is more than a paper in a frame. I pray I find a good Dr. that is truly a healer, one who listens, has compassion, and knows the person going in ,is a human, and also a customer! They could use a lot of training in customer service. They should feel humble that people seek their help, not make them feel whipped. Good luck to those who walk in pain, I hoped to get help, and it turned into a nightmare, How she gets good reviews is beyond me, she must have a split personality, because not everyone agrees. good luck!

Very caring took time to listen to all health related problems gave the best care I have had threw out at least six doctors who quickly saw me and just prescribed medicine Dr Cosijns was the best she found out the source to my health issues and referred me to physical therapy and to the doctors I needed to see to treat this painful condition I have all well giving me medicine to treat the current pain with also alternative medicine options which I feel more comfortable with. The staff was extremely helpful and caring the staff manager Robyn is very efficient and just a sweet heart they are always on time and have the cleanest office way to go Dr Cosijns Team I brag about you to all.

If you are in pain, please go somewhere else. This doctor will not listen, and will cut you off as you try to explain how you feel. Her office staff Robin/office manager, and Kristen/medication assistant are very rude and have no compassion. They will not return phone calls and will leave you in pain for a week or two before they will let you in to see the doctor. They make you feel like a drug seeker when you are calling to see the doctor before your next appointment because she changed your medication and you are having a bad reaction. There are better doctors and staff that truly want to help people get better.

The first visit she was okay, not anything special,but insist on her care was the only way. You have to see a psychologist ... for course she only knows the highest paid in the US. She couldn't understand why I couldn't get information from my GI doc on her time schedule, but when calling you NEVER talk to a live voice, the they assume as well as make changes on the message without directly taking to you. If she is upset, she has no diplomacy. If you are sick and need care, I do not recommend her at all. My visit was the worst and I will never go back. Thankfully there are many others, better, kinder and who really want to help people. Also don't look down on you because you are having to see a pain specialist.

My wife and I are truly fortunate to have found Dr. Cosijns. She has gotten to the causes of my wife's intractable pain and very skillfully treated them in ways other doctors could not or would not do. She is a truly caring person as well as a highly skilled physician. She treats the whole person rather than merely treating symptoms. We'd recommend her highly.
