Dr. Anne My Nguyen, MD

I have seen Dr Anne M Nguyen for more than 5 years. At last year's annual examination, she found little holes in my right eye retina, and promptly referred me to a retina specialist who confirmed and treated the condition. Dr Nguyen has been sharp and friendly at all times. I highly recommend her to anyone who needs a reliable eye doctor.

I took my mom to Anne Nguyen MD (Markman & Wolstan office in Torrance) and she was the most incompetent MD I’ve ever encountered. She spent a few minutes with her and just said she sees dry eyes and to “try over the counter eye drops,” despite the fact that she’s already been using them (clearly stated in the medical history). She didn’t even mention the tech’s exam results (we had to ASK her to tell us), didn’t know how to intelligibly explain anything we asked about, and was just overall socially awkward and didn’t seem to care. A week later my mom developed completely new redness, acute blurred vision/loss of visual acuity, white discharge, and pain in one eye and when I called the office, Nguyen just told her coworker to send a prescription for an antibiotic eye ointment and follow up in 2-3 weeks (nope, she didn’t request to see my mom’s eye in person/perform an assessment first). I found it almost comical. My mom immediately went to a different ophthalmologist. Never again.
