Doctor Anne Truitt and her staff are my heroes! A few years ago in the early stages of COVID-19, I noticed a scab on my back that would not heal. My general practitioner referred me to numerous dermatologists, but none of them would inside of 3 to 4 months. Something told me that I could not wait that long. By happenstance, I was stopped on Balboa Ave, making a left at the Genesee light. I picked up my phone and asked Apple Maps to locate a “dermatologist nearby.” A listing popped up just to my left—it was Dr. Truitt’s office, and I was able to get an appointment in just a few days! And I am forever grateful for the rapidness of that first visit. As it turned out, I had developed a squamous cell cancer on my back. This was the a first for me. Within just a few weeks, that malignancy was excised, and Dr Truitt placed me on a regular screening and treatment schedule. And this is where a deeper sense of gratitude set in. Something in my physiology changed as I hit my 60s. My… skin is now showing the effects of decades of sun damage. Regular skin screen has exposed a number of melanomas. I have undergone a various of treatments ranging from oncological surgery at UCSD to in-office out-patient excisions to topical skin peels. I am fortunate that none of these cancers spread to my lymph system. Feelings of emotional uncertainty have arisen with each of these diagnoses. However, my fears and worries have been replaced by Dr Truitt’s dedicated care, plan for regular screening and recommendations for cancer prevention. By following her professional advice, I have a step-by-step path to follow for healthier skin and a long life. I no longer take sun exposure for granted. I protect myself with zinc-based sunscreen, shade hats, avoid exposure between 10am to 2pm, wear 30 UPF clothing, and I have changed my diet as specified by Dr Truitt and other specialists whom she referred. Of utmost importance, I go out of my way to be present for my regular skin examinations. Dr. Truitt treats my parent for melanoma and she is great. Office is efficient, parking is easy, care is spectacular. My highest recommendation.

I have been seen by Dr Truitt for more than 2 years now. Lucky for me I was referred to her by my previous dermatologist as I needed 2 Moh's surgeries. I have always been clearly informed of my skin problems, and the necessary treatment. The scars from the surgeries are barely noticeable. I feel comfortable and confident whenever seen by her and any of her staff. I am extremely grateful to be under her care.

Dr. Truitt is really through and thoughtful. It is so nice to have your Doctor follow up on your surgery with a phone call to your home making sure that you are doing well. It is also very nice that you never feel rushed during a vist to the office. I can't say enough good things about the staff, there is no nicer group of people. You are made to feel comfortable from the moment you arrive till the time you leave. A professional group all around.

I could not imagine seeing another Dr for my dermatology. I have had some extensive MOHS surgery and Dr Truitt always put me at ease and explains the procedures and after care. Dr. Truitt recently performed a surgery that I had put off too long. Now I don't know why I waited. She was so kind and attentive, and her gentle sense of humor and confident manner put me immediately at ease. She, her office staff, and her medical assistants are clearly a coordinated team, making me feel confident that my care was in good hands. Where there was a big purple-tinged mass, now there is smooth skin and hardly a scar. She really cares about doing a good job. And cares about the humanity of her patients. I was not just a patient number to Dr. Truitt and her assistants. I will definitely see her again. She has become my go-to dermatologist.
