Dr. Annemarie Fanselau

I met Dr. Fanselau 17 yrs. ago when she visited my son at birth to give him his examination. We’ve been with her ever since! After losing one child to malpractice, I was a wreck and (still) overly cautious. Dr. Fanselau is more than thorough in explaining her diagnosis. When my daughter was hospitalized with an extremely high bilirubin level, she called ahead and had a bed/room prepared and met us upon arrival. She knows my children fear shots and want to know right away if they are getting one, and she lets them know as soon as she enters. Dr. Fanselau is prompt for our visits, yet she makes us feel as if we’re her only patients for the day. When we are in the room with her, she follows up with my children on their activities and eating habits. It’s apparent that Dr. Fanselau loves her job. She’s warm and is always wearing a smile.

We first met doctor Fanselau when she walked into our hospital room to visit with our newborn. I just remember opening my eyes and seeing her smile. She made me feel very comfortable about the small issues our son was going through. We have been seeing her ever since. My now four year old loves her. Any time he doesn't feel good he asks to see Dr Fanselau :)

As an anxious 1st time mom, Dr. Fanselau was the PERFECT doctor for me and my newborn-2 yr. old son. Only reason we're not seeing her now is b/c we had to switch to Kaiser. She is an excellent diagnostician. She is calm, patient and focuses on priorities. She is warm in the right ways though don't expect "goo-goo, ga-gas" from her (why would you want a dr. to do that anyway), and my son always responded well to her. She was a major part in helping me cope with my anxieties about taking care of a baby for the 1st time. Will return to her when we switch our insurance back!

My kids love her. I love her. She really takes time with her patients and has called me herself numerous times to follow up when it would have been easier to have her nurse call. I don't understand the negative reviews. She has never ever been even slightly rude. I appreciate her also really trying to get the kids perspective. She has been very very knowlegable and found things that another doctor missed repeatedly.

She is prompt, polite, and to the point. My three children love her so much that they all want to be a pediatrician. She diagnosed my son's heart valve condition when others missed it. She came to our house over a Thanksgiving Holiday to check on my children's ear infections and called the pharmacy for a proscription. She takes her time answering ALL our questions during check ups. I will be going to her wherever she goes.

She's horrible!!!!, condescending and not empathetic at all. Misdiagnosed my child, had an attitude from the beginning of the appointment and treated us as if we owe her something. Lady,my insurance pays you therefore you are there to provide ME a service and not the other way around. Get it?

Dr. Fanselau has been our pediatrician for 9 years. She has always been more than attentive to my children and their needs. I have never felt rushed during an appointment. When one of my sons was having an irregular heart beat she called the hospital to tell them we were coming into emergency. Huntington hospital said they were full and would not take us. She called the cardiologist and drove with us to the hospital and stayed for several hours while we waited and my son was checked out. This all happened on a Friday night and I am sure she had other things to do. The next day she followed up to make sure that we were all okay from the traumatic experience. I will continue to recommend her as a pediatrician. She is a great doctor and person.

By far the worse pediatrician I've ever encountered. She would ask questions and cut me off when I would try to answer, didn't seem at all concern for my child or cared about his past medical history. I can't imagine anyone liking or wanting to have her as a doctor. It blows my mind her lack of empathy and care. Her bedside manners are awful, completely rude and condescending. I hope she reads this and all other posts from others who have had the same horrible experience. A complete disgrace to the practice.

not the best doctor in terms of friendliness and caring about and following up on patients

My baby had jaundice when born and I loved the direct follow up from Dr. Fanselau. She is great with my son and is very nice and easy to talk to. I hardly ever feel rushed and she answers all of my questions. She is an excellent doctor.
