Dr. Anthony P. Mechrefe, MD

Dr. Mechrefe gave me all my options. He answered all my questions and stuck with me after I sought out a 2nd opinion. The 2nd opinion MD was recommended to me, I heard him out, but with time, did not trust him. I returned to Dr Mechrefe and never regretted it. It is almost a year since surgery, my ankle is better than I ever expected. I believe he is honest, exceptional in surgery and respectful and kind. I am very grateful.

Dr. Mechrefe is an amazing Dr. Its his office staff that effects his rating. Especially post op. If you have that ability to deal with the staff hes worth it. Incredible bed side mannor !

Fabulous! Dr. Mecherfre is the best. Great technical knowledge and experience, very thorough in explanations patients can understand, wonderful bedside manner. As the nurses in the operating room prep confirmed, "He's the real deal." Highly recommend.

Dr. Mechrefe and his Nurse Practioner, Ms. Simpson were outstanding in performing my surgical procedure, follow-up care and post-op directions. Yes, waiting, office personnel and the constant flow of interns can be frustrating but in my view, it is the status of the medical field, not the MD and it's all worth it for the best care. M

Had a total ankle replacement on AUgust 2, 2017. I could not be more pleased with results. Still a lot of work to do but no pain at all and my quality of life has improved immensely. The doctor answered all my questions and took the time to explain everything in great detail. His staff from the front office, Jessica and the great PT people could not be more helpful. Most caring, compassionate Orthopedic I have ever met. He takes time to sit and answer all of my questions each visit. His entire team was wonderful to work with.

Love that he answers all your questions without hesitation. Not so happy with post surgery practice of seeing the PA instead of the doctor though. Understood many doctors are going in this direction in order to see more preop patients. They may lose patients over this in the long run. His office staff is fabulous, the bigger picture with overall office staff is they are often confused (may be getting to big) lacking knowledge and little follow up when messages are left. I don't blame the doctor for this, he can only return calls when given messages.

While the office wait is unacceptable and the staff not as joyful as they could be, I put this aside and still rate Dr. M a 5-star, only because I believe he is really good at what he does and my recovery and outcome is very favorable. I put the less than stellar office staff and scheduling aside, because I would rather have an excellent Dr. verus a sub-par one, so deal with long wait times, etc.

Dr. Mechrefe is one of the best orthopedics around. He takes a personal interest in his patients care from start to finish. I had meniscus tears in both knees and the surgery and recovery went extremely well. I have and will continue to refer anyone to him. He is the best.
