Dr. Anthony Tae-Young Sonn

Both Dr. Sonn and the nurses are kind & compassionate. Administrative staff is phenomenal. Could not get better care anywhere else - trust me.

Great personality and bedside manner. Very kind and caring and it shows.

My experience with Dr. Sonn has all been positive. He asks questions, answers questions so that I can understand him and is very personable. Can be a bit tough getting an appointment but I look at that as a positive. If he wasn't any good, he wouldn't have as many patients and scheduling would be much easier!

Dr. Sonn took care of my husband for many years. Starting out with trying to do everything possible for his vascular disease in his legs. From there my husband had quadtriple by pass which Dr. Sonn found this and recommended that day to have it done. He then put many stents in my husband. He gave my husband 8 extra years of life. Dr. Sonn listen to us at every visit and listened to me as a wife also. He has a great bedside manner. Gave us his cell number so we could get a hold of him at any time. He spends time with you and we not only thought of Dr. Sonn as a doctor but as a dear friend. I would highly recommend Dr. Sonn. He was always looking for new research for my husband illness. Thank you Dr. Sonn for becoming a doctor and coming into our life.

The Mercy Heart Clinic staff was efficient and knowledgeable as was Dr. Sonn BUT Dr. Sonn did not follow up on my treatment and so I was never scheduled for the procedure for which I was diagnosed. In fact when I called Mercy Medical Records (after a month) and then called again to speak to Dr. Sonn's nurse to get my records transferred to Barnes/Jewish I learned that Dr. Sonn had NOT had my diagnosis entered in Mercy's electronic record system, I was basically a non-entity. In fairness, I had developed an upper respiratory condition that took a week's recovery but even after that cleared up I was not scheduled. The Mitral Valve balloon that was necessary in order for me to have a hip replacement seemed to be the stumbling block. Dr. Sonn told me that the Inoue Balloon was not available and he would need to contact the manufacturer which could take awhile. After a month I contacted the manufacturer myself and learned that the Inoue Balloon IS available and when I also contacted… Barnes/Jewish (to find another cardiologist) they already had one on hand. I asked BJC to request my medical records from Dr. Sonn and waited a week before I followed up with BJC. Barnes/Jewish had NOT received the records. My journey towards the Mitral Valve repair began at the end of August. It's now December. My initial cardiologist had referred me to Dr. Sonn because he did not do the Inoue Balloon procedure. I am puzzled and disappointed with Dr. Sonn's administrative failure. While I found him to be everything that his other patients describe in their reviews I cannot give him high marks in my case. I won't begin to speculate on why I didn't receive the care that I expected from Dr. Sonn. The Mercy Clinic Heart staff is excellent and responded immediately to my request for help and advice. I can only say that we all need to advocate for ourselves where our heart health is an issue AND if a medical professional does not respond and follow up we need to find one who will. Patience is a virtue but should be limited if the situation includes physical pain and a heart issue.

I was very conficent after meeting with Dr Sonn that I was in good hands. He has been very kind and helpful and has made me feel like I could talk to him about anything and get s straight and honest answer.

You will feel confident in Dr. Sonn after meeting with him. I did, and it paid off just as I felt it would. I would highly recommend him for cardiac concerns.
