Poor standard of care provided

I do not usually write reviews, but people have to know what I have witnessed. If you look at the other reviews on this page, you would know that I am not alone. I choose Dr. Arlene Fontanares for my first pregnancy, OBGYN. I was recommended by my family doctor, who are great friends. I did not have any problems until the end of my pregnancy when I decided to cancel my induction, scheduled one day after my due date. Please note: I have no history of health issues, and my baby has no complications. Consequently, I thought it would have been best for my baby and me to wait a few more days after my due date to see if my body would naturally have labor contractions. Nevertheless, I went to the office today for my weekly check-up, and Dr. Fontanares was very upset with me because I decided to cancel my induction. Then she proceeded to open my cervix to 2 cm, which was very painful. With her initial uncomfortable attitude and tone when I arrived, I felt like she intentionally wanted… me to feel the pain. I could be wrong, however. After checking my cervix, she said, "You can come in next week." "I don't know what else to do with you." Next week?! I am already five days overdue. I'm currently past my due date by five days, and waiting one more week may put my baby and me in more risk. I understand that Dr. Fontanares was upset with me about canceling the induction, but you can't decide to pass me along at 41 weeks pregnant to another doctor that I have never seen before. To me, it seems like she abandoned a patient. I think it is very unprofessional and rude. I will never recommend this doctor to anyone. I do not wish what I have experienced with Dr. Fontanares and her assistant on my worst enemy.

I’ve never seen a doctor that is as rude as this woman. She doesn’t care about what a patient says. All she wanted to do was force patient to have a epidural. When the patients family told the patient it’s her decision to do what she wanted and not be forced into something she had clearly said NO to this doctor looks at the nurse and tells her she need to control the guest and then she tells us we need to decide who’s going to leave. She had no problem kicking out the support system for the patient. Grandmother, Mothers and Aunt. I wouldn’t recommend her to anyone. Believe the reviews she’s a insurance billing department best friend. Force her will on patient until the family speaks up then your a bother to her. I’d give her no star but the site won’t let me.

Won't return phone calls. Cattle herding. Stay away

Stay away. She is rude and so are her nurses. All they do is chit chat while you site naked on a table for over an hour

The wait was always way too long in the waiting room and waiting in the patient's room. By the time she would finally come in she would only be in there for 2 minutes and never had enough time for questions. Being my first pregnancy, this service was not satisfactory at all.

She's great. The wait in the waiting room was a little too long though.
