Dr. Arthur K Smith, MD

Dr. Smith was my doctor for more than 20 years. He practically raised my children from the ages of 10 and 8 tears old. He was a no nonsense person. He was always up on the latest medicines and would advise you accordingly. He didn't do a whole lot of talking but that was ok because neither did I, but his assistant Vonda was the conversationalist. I loved going there because there was compassion and caring there. I remember when I was a seasonal employee and my new health insurance hadn't kicked in, Dr. Smith provided my medicine until my insurance came through. He had been my doctor about 10 years by that time. I moved to Richmond 5 years ago, and was sorry to have to change doctors, but my son still went to him until Dr. Smith retired. Great practice, wonderful person.

Dr. Smith is a traditional GP who practices good no-nonsense medicine in his single doctor practice. He is affiliated with both Penn and Jefferson, and seems to have personal contact with the best specialists in many areas of medicine. His practice combines the best of a friendly, small-office country doctor with a sophisticated urban physician who can help his patients obtain some of the best specialist medical care in the country. I've been a patient of Dr. Smith for more than 30 years. We are lucky to have him and a practice like his in the city.
