Dr. Arthur Harout Loussararian, MD

This quiet, intelligent, informed and responsive interventionist cardiologist has been largely responsible for the fact that, after 20 years under his care, I continue to live a normal and enjoyable life in my 95th year. Dr Loussararian is an honor to his profession, and I give him my unqualified recommendation.

I am a 65 year old male with an extensive history of cardiac and vascular problems, first apparent when I suffered a major stroke at the age of 19. I was first treated by Dr. Lou in 2004 when I was able to reach Mission Hospital’s Emergency Room while having a heart attack. There, Dr. Lou quickly and expertly cleared a heart valve blockage, installed a stent and thereby saved my life, extending it, as of this writing, by 14 years. Since then, Dr. Lou has continually improved the quality of my life by very accurately diagnosing and surgically resolving multiple vascular problems. In 2013, he diagnosed and cleared vein blockages and installed stents in my left leg to resolve poor circulation and cramping. In early 2018, after I suddenly developed very high blood pressure, he diagnosed and cleared a 99% blocked renal artery and installed a stent, immediately bringing my blood pressure back to normal. In mid-2018, after my leg cramps returned, he accurately diagnosed and removed scar… tissue that had developed in the stents that he had installed in 2013. Also, in a CT scan that Dr. Lou ordered recently, an abdominal aortic aneurysm was discovered. This type of aneurysm is slow growing and exhibits no symptoms, but is almost always fatal if it bursts. Dr. Lou will repair the aneurysm in the future, when it grows to an ideal size for surgical intervention, thereby saving my life for a second time! Dr. Lou’s diagnostic and surgical skills are truly impressive. There may be cardiac and vascular surgeons with similar skills in Orange County, but I doubt that you will find any that are more talented than Dr. Lou. I must also mention Dr. Lou’s nurse assistant Billie Martinez. Assisting Dr. Lou for the last 14 years, she is extremely knowledgeable and efficient, very hard working, always available and happens to have a great sense of humor!

I was diagnosed with a rather large septal defect (hole in my heart) which Dr. Loussararian successfully repaired. I was very impressed with his assistant Billi who arranged authorizations, tests and the procedure with efficiency, kindness and thoroughness. Dr. "Lou" sent my case out to thorasic surgeons for a second opion before the repair which gave me great confidence in him. Because of his expertise and his great staff, I am able to continue life without the fear of a disabling stroke. Very few cardiologists are able to repair these kind of defects and I feel very blessed that my primary physician referred me to this office. I'm also in the medical field and would highly recommend this physician. He is extremely bright and will do his best for you too.
