Dr. Arthur Lewis Poch, MD

I LOVE DR. POCH. HE KNOWS HOW TO CALM A NERVOUS PATIENT, & GOES OUT OF HIS WAY TO EXPLAIN HIS PROCEDURES ON A LEVEL THAT THE PATIENT CAN UNDERSTAND. HIS SMILE & FUNNY PERSONALITY JUST ADD TO THE COMFORT OF EVERYONE. I WOULD NEVER GO TO ANYONE ELSE.

I have been a patient of Dr. Poch for probably 20 years. I have always been happy with his office. He has an awesome PA. Heather, which normally sees me now because we have gotten my medications correct. Now I have dealt with Stacy and she was a lady who was all business but always took care of my issues. She no longer works at his office. Dr. Poch is kinda the same way. He is definitely a top rate doctor, knows his stuff and is all business too. I do have to say he wants you to listen to him first because he needs to tell you all the facts first and then you ask questions. He will stop you if you break in mainly, I think, because he needs to make his point first. All the procedures I have had he either talks to me or my husband after and recommends what is needed. In my opinion this is because they are doing a bunch of procedures everyday. I gave a 4 because my husband has been experiencing severe issues with his gut. He has been hospitalized for sepsis and pan… colitis where he was severely ill and we found out he had gall stones. I automatically decided to take him to Dr. Poch who schedule him for a colonoscopy. He said there was only a little inflammation left and we went on our way. Then he started running fever about 3-4 days after the hospital stay and we went to our PCP who imminently sent us to Dr Norwood to have his gall bladder removed. He never really got well and we went to just have our medicine refill visit at the PCP and he got so sick with diarrhea that luckily they got a sample and he had C-diff a very contagious and severe sickness, you can die from it. Well of course he has had medicine after medicine and he is somewhat better but not completely. Every time he eats he has to run to the bathroom. Well the PCP sent us back to Dr Poch because after almost a year he was still coming back positive with C-diff. We went and we saw his PA Heather (who I love) and we went over a few things and she went and got Dr Poch. He began to explain there were two test for C-diff and that he could just be what they call a carrier now. This has to be sent off because it cost so much to have the equipment to perform it. The test did come back negative which means the C-diff is not active at this time yet he is still having the same issues. This is my issue: He and Heather said if the test comes back negative they will figure out what is causing him to have the constant diarrhea and he already takes medicine to control his guts from actively cramping and have pain all the time. Again they did not follow up with a plan for him. I am going to call again today and kinda fuss because we went out to eat last night and right after he finish eating off to the bathroom he went. Sorry for the last comment.

Be careful that you don't say anything his nurse doesn't like because she will have the Dr drop you out of retaliation. Doesn't matter how nice and courteous you are she will make it seem like you were out of line, rude and being a difficult patient. I was left without a gastrologist because they blackballed me at the Dr. that they referred me out to and the new Dr cancelled my appointment and wouldn't see me without a new referral. CRAZY His nurses name is Stacy

Dr. Poch seems pretty good but the practices of his office are hypocritical and they do not value your time. They expect for you to sit there and wait and wait for over 30 minutes after your appointment time. But if you are 30 minutes later for your appointment time, the office wants to charge you 100.00. So how is it fair that they can be 30 minutes late and not pay me for my time, but will charge me 100.00 for 30 minutes of their time. Then, if you complain they will not see you again. They act as if their time is more valuable than yours.

We saw Dr. Poch on the recommendation of a nurse at the cancer center. We were having nausea issues at the time but were unable to get a response from his system. Later we were concerned about the age of the PEG tube so we once again made an attempt and were given a date 10 days out from the call. upon meeting him, he seamed nice enough, although a bit rushed - especially with a new patient which he had not seen before. He examined the PEG tube and without discussion of what type of replacement he was going to use, removed it and replaced it with a balloon G-Tube with a much shorter tube. We started having issues with the exterior bolster slipping back and causing leakage. We contacted GIS Assoc. and explained to the nursing staff that we though a change to a button style device would help cure this issue. We were told that they did not carry the particular brand of button we were inquiring about (did not recommend another brand), but that they would be happy to install it once we… found one. Not knowing the stoma length, and no information from the doctor we could not do that. I tried to contact them again using their online appointment system and had no response... We have changed providers.

do not go to this doctor for gastro problems..does not talk to you after your procedure..just sends home with paper work reccommending more fiber...does not respond to phone calls..rude nurse..does not listen or respond to needs of patient..as long as you don't have cancer..you are good to go

He did not return phonecalls with complaints of pain and nausea. He had nursing staff call back with results. Several requests to speak to him myself, but no return call. Nursing staff wasn't familar with chart and tried to schedule me for procedures that Dr. Poch had already done.

i wish there were more room for additional stars beside bedside manner and spending enough time with me. dr poch must think i'm a nut case because i get this nevous chatter thing goin on every time he walks into the room. silly i know, but i guess it's because i know he could tell me some really bad news. dr poch has seen me for years and has always been very patient with me and gives me the information i need. i would recommend him to anyone.
