Dr. Arthur Seth Portnow, MD

Tragically wastes patient's time by either showing up late, or unprepared. Orders unnecessary tests. Is generally a negative person.

Told that he did not believe that I had the medical conditions that I had due to the fact that his office staff failed to put my diagnosis paperwork into my file 4 years ago nor did his medical staff contact my physicians from Michigan to have my files and records sent. I have celiac disease IBD anxiety and fatigue issues I was not there for drugs or pills of any sort I only wanted paperwork to relieve some of the hours from work and he basically called me a liar

This practice goes through so many employees it's not funny . If you can't keep the help there's something wrong here

Terrible!!!

In my opinion this is the worst Doctor I've ever had and I'm in my seventies, so I've had a few. First of all, it appears he could not gain entrance to a U.S. Med school so he resorted to getting his degree from an Italian school. A school that did not even teach in English to my knowledge. Then he was fined by Medicare for almost $2 million for trying to defraud them for unecessary tests. Like I said, worst Doctor I've ever had!

Very Happy that I know he will leave no stone unturned, that he takes the time to listen and tries to understand where you are coming from. I highly recommend.

I have been seeing Dr Portnow now for 10 years and I am 100% satisfied. Before him I was going to a Dr Aprill who apparently was a good doctor but if he spent 5 minutes with me in his office (filled by the way with Mickey Mouse collectibles which I thought was very odd) I was very lucky! On the other hand, Dr Portnow is a very caring doctor and yes sometimes you have to wait longer in the waiting room to see him but that's because he spends as much time with his patients as they want and does not rush people like other doctors do to see how many patients he can see in one day. I like the attention he gives each patient as he doesn't simply talk to them for a few minutes and move on to the next. He actually spends as much time with his patients as needed and he has spent up to 20 or more minutes with me most times I see him. Luckily I don't have any major issues but he takes the time to go over everything - lab results cat scans, etc. The way I look at it is that when I am… scheduled to see him I don't plan to do anything else until I am out of there. Plus this man takes his job extremely seriously. He's there at 8AM or before and doesn't leave to go home until at least 8PM maybe longer. Many times I've seen his black car still there late at night. Plus he works on his patients'cases on Saturdays. This is NOT a 8-5 job for Dr Portnow but a job that he takes very seriously and it shows that he cares about his patients. If you want to see a doctor and not be treated special then go to someone else but if you want a very caring professional medical man then Dr Artur Portnow should DEFINITELY be your choice. Plus I must mention his very able (and I must mention beautiful) assistant Tara who has been with him for many many years. She is not only lovely but has a tremendous personality and is very knowledgeable and always extremely pleasant and willing to help and, like Dr Portnow, never rushes patients!!

THIS MAN PURPORTS TO "HAVE AN INTEREST" IN CARDIOLOGY, BUT HAS NO FORMAL CARDIOLOGY TRAINING NOR ANY CERTIFICATION. MY OPINION IS THAT HE SHOULD NOT BE PRACTICING MEDICINE.
