Dr. Arun Kumar Dhingra, MD

My father was in the psychiatric crisis center for trying suicide when my mother left him. My mother and I went to pick him up when he was released. Dr. Dhingra took this chance to counsel my mother to stop divorce proceedings and "try to compromise." Then he asked me, "Don't you want your parents to stay married?" My father physically abused my mother for decades! Dr. Dhingra knew nothing about our situation, yet he inflicted his dangerous advice on us. Because of Dr. Dhingra's comments, after we left the facility, my father lectured my mother throughout the drive that she was making a mistake and "even the doctor says she should stop the divorce." Shameful and unprofessional. This man should not be a doctor.

Dr Dhingra was on call for Dr Goldiner. I placed after hour calls to him via the answering service. 3x he never called back, and per the ER physician, they attempted to contact him on 3 separate occasions and he did not call back until their 4th attempt upon which they advised me he "knew all about me". I never met or spoke to this Dr. I was suffering from partial "cluster" seizures. This occurred in 2014 and can be verified via ER notes.

While being treated in ICU, Dr. Dhringra consulted concerning my wife's confusion. He attributed the confusion to MS lesions in her brain when in fact it was later determined to be a condition related to dehydration. His diagnosis was on the basis of what he referred to as his review of her medical history. He was unaware she had not had an exacerbation in 10 years and that her confusion was a recent condition. He spent less that five minutes in person with her. He reduced her BACLOFEN med dosage by fifty percent without discussion or communication me and her family of caregivers, or consulting with the prescribing phycisian (baclofen should be tapered to avoid withdrawal reactions). The clinical pharmacist on the hospital tried to discuss the doctor's order to reduce BACLOFEN without taper and Dr. Dinghra didn't respond . Dr. Dhingra declined to consult with her regular neurologist. He was condescending and rude. The hospital staff referred to him as an embarrassment to the hospital… and apologized to us. The incident is being investigated.
