Americans are used to long foreign names in doctors, and often a foreign accent as well. I wondered if Dr. P. (the staff suggests you call him) was one of these. Happily, he was as American as apple pie, and got down to business comparing CT scan reports over a ten year period. I learned that one terrible disease that had been mentioned by an earlier pulmonologist was not my problem. Dr. P is a great diagnostician, by all appearances, and described my lung problem in understandable terms. He spent a good deal of time reviewing all the reports of my CT lung scans, and asked questions of me and my wife about my history. He asked if I wished to try an emergency brocho-dilation inhaler for coughing spells, or a steroid inhalant. Thinking further, he felt the quick-acting emergency inhaler would be the way to go, and said that if it did not help me, I should simply stop using it. I had been controlling a chronic cough due to fibrosis of the lung with menthol cough drops. He made a… 2 month followup appointment. He is personable, easy to talk to, and listens well. I can't praise him enough. A real breath of fresh air.
