Dr. Asif M Ilyas

I am a longtime patient and he has always been a meticulous, excellent surgeon with a wonderful bedside manner and very kind. I would recommend him to anyone needing hand/wrist care and surgery, I would never go to anyone else.

Dr. llyas is good at what he does, the surgery he done on hand was extraordinary and I was amazed how well the procedure went and if it was to happen again I would want him to do the surgery.

Dr. Ilyas is highly skilled and a consummate professional; he has treated my lateral epicondylitis for almost a year. As an RN, I have high standards when it comes to medical care, and I would recommend Dr. Ilyas, without hesitation, to anyone with a hand or elbow problem.

I have been seeing Dr Ilyas for the last 6 1/2 years for an injury that left me with a permanent chronic condition. Dr Ilyas is amazing when it comes to my care and he is very compassionate when it comes to understanding my physical and mental health pertaining to my condition. He never rushes me through my appointments and takes all the time necessary for my to express how I’m feeling and my needs. I am Glad Dr Ilyas is in charge of my care, and I would recommend him to anyone hand/arm injuries or conditions

Abrupt and self-absorbed - I honestly don’t know why he went into a caring profession.

My experience with Dr.Ilyas was unprofessional and deceiving. Before the procedure it was explained that he would be teaching and that others may be in the room, but when the actual procedure was performed that was not the case. I was shown a video in which Dr.Ilyas himself says, “rest assured, I will be the one performing your surgery.” During the procedure, a resident performed portions with the Doctor giving directions. I was not properly advised that a student would be performing surgery under Dr.Ilyas’s instructions. When I confronted him, he did not offer an apology; I was told to find another surgeon. At the very least patients should be made fully aware of what could actually happen and the video should be corrected to remove the sentence that he will be the one performing the surgery. It should state, “I may at times be giving direction to a resident to perform portions of your surgery.” Knowing that to be the case, a patient could then make the decision whether or not… they want to go forward with this doctor or find a different one that will actually perform the entire surgery themselves. I do not recommend this doctor.

Dr.Ilyas treated my 17-18 year old son for a period of about a year for a scaphoid fracture in his wrist. This is a complex injury, and we really appreciated that Dr. Ilyas started with the most conservative approach although my son eventually needed surgery and some additional treatment. In addition to being an excellent doctor and surgeon Dr. Ilyas explained each step of the process thoroughly and was very patient with me being a Mom who likes to ask a lot of questions. He and his assistant Jennifer are both very responsive to messages/questions. He also worked with my son so that although he was in a cast he did not need to miss out on playing football his senior year of high school which was very important to him. My son has fully healed from the injury, and we would highly recommend Dr. Ilyas!
