Dr. Atif Iqbal, MD

I wish I could’ve left a 0-star review. My mom was in the hospital for over two months, finally got discharged to undergo surgery with supposedly an amazing Dr. Atif Iqbal, who took over for another surgeon because she was considered high risk. However, it turned out to be a lie, one of many lies. The second time she saw him for the first time, he agreed to take over the surgery, which started the worst three months of our lives. During this time, she was out of work, and the surgeon's nurses were incredibly unprofessional. The entire office appeared lazy and lacked genuine concern for their patients' well-being. We faced multiple reschedulings, and my mom has been without pay for over three months because they never filed for disability work. Two weeks after being led to believe that the surgery was being scheduled urgently, my mom found out that he was on vacation and out of the office, performing surgery elsewhere. It seems like they will say anything to get you off the phone and… avoid handling your case properly. When my mom finally managed to reach a nurse to reschedule the surgery, the nurse behaved unprofessionally and accused my mom of inappropriate behavior, leading to her discharge. He did not listen to the call, as it was on speakerphone at home, but it seems that patient confidentiality is not a priority for these employees. Whenever we called afterward, it felt like they were anticipating her calls and gave her more false excuses. As a blind patient, I called three times to reach the doctor, and he was oddly available, but when my mom called just two minutes before, he was either never in the office or always in surgery. Thankfully, there are other doctors out there, as this man seems to be elusive and unresponsive. When I mentioned his name to medical personnel, they sighed, indicating that this situation is not uncommon." My advice to anyone struggling with this doctor is to call medical. You deserve to get care from someone who understands your needs and wants to help.

I have had experience with many doctors and have found Dr.Iqball the best of the best. He is a quiet, humble man who has the ability to make you feel as if you are his only patient. He has an eloquence that allows a person to understand your condition and what has to done to accomplish good health. I Dr.Iqball is also compassionate to the patient and to the family members as well. He calmly and passionately listens to everyone's concerns. He is above the top at his skill as a surgeon. His staff members are very supportive of the patient's needs and they accommodate their needs as best as they can. I highly, and without reservation, recommended this surgeon.

This Dr is amazing he saved my life 7 years ago. I can not say enough about how great he is.

I give 100 % recommendations for Dr. Atif Iqbal. He performed a Nissen fundoplication to repair my hiatal hernia and gave me the best service possible I loved the way He conducted himself with care and respect.

I suffered with Achalasia which is a condition in which the muscles of the lower part of the esophagus fail to relax, preventing food from passing into the stomach. I was 1 in 100,000 to be affected by this disorder. For over 4 years I wasn't able to consume liquids and foods. I finally was able to successfully seek treatment and luckily i got sent to Dr. Iqbal's office in Fountain Valley, CA. That's where i had my consultation and met some of the nicest staff and of course Dr, Iqbal. After getting a study done to further pursue the results that come from this disorder and of course to get treatment, i was sent out to surgery. Dr Iqbal performed my surgery, along with the assistant nurses. The surgery went really well, thanks to Dr. Iqbal and the nurses. He was really involved and caring towards my well being before during and after my surgery. I felt really safe and welcomed to his assistance and care for me as a patient. I also had a follow up appointment with him and it went really… well as i knew it would. He was really nice and very compassionate with me. Over all, i am really thankful for being treated by the amazing staff at Dr. Iqbal's office and by Dr. Iqbal, it was definitely a wonderful experience going there. I am really fortunate by being able to get my surgery done with Dr. Iqbal, i cannot describe how happy and satisfied i am with my over all experience with the staff and Dr. Iqbal.

He is known as Dr. Iqbal but I call him Dr. Awesome; he really is. Experienced, knowledgeable, caring, honest, and everything else you expect from a wonderful physician. I had a relapse of my breast cancer a few months ago and needed a double mastectomy operation. Dr. Iqbal was there for me all the way from the beginning to end taking care of all arrangements with insurance, coordination with the doctor for the reconstruction surgery, and looking after all the details. He went out of his way to personally deal with a last-minute insurance complication. I am extremely thankful and happy with my recovery and progress in defeating my cancer.

Dr. Iqbal is a very caring and personable doctor. He is very up front with the diagnosis which I am sure some patients don't want to hear but you know were you stand after you discuss what is wrong. A very good many and fabulous patient bedside manners. Very caring. The thing I liked was that if I have a problem with a surgery I can call his cell phone not some service so you can wait for him to get back to you

I met Dr. Iqbal and he performed my surgery. He is knowledgeable, caring, passionate and best coach. I love the fact that he did my surgery and I lost 27 pounds in the first month! Thank you doctor!

I went to get my ventral hernia fixed. This doctor did not show up for the surgery because he had an emergency and had to stay with the patient. However, I had been prepped for surgery at a surgical center that was not exactly sterile. The operating rooms were open to the hallway and the doors wide open to bacteria loaded air. I cannot respect a doctor that does not use sterile protocols for surgical interventions. Furthermore, this doctor should know better than to place patients in nonsterile medical facilities when doing open body surgical repairs. I will never go back to a doctor that puts my health on the line by risking infection due to surgery.

At the beginning, I was very concerned with having surgery and the results of the LINX procedure. However, Dr. Iqbal was very good at walking me through the steps of the procedure and the expected results. He did a wonderful job with the procedure. I experienced minimal pain and I am now doing great 3 weeks after surgery. I would highly recommend him to anyone who is having severe issues with GERD and needs a LINX procedure. He will take great care of you!
