i found Augustos approach on the first appointment was to assume the patient is a lair. He even stated it doesn't believe patients. Augusto said he had to see it with his own eyes. Hummm how about reading my medical records? How about looking at how thin I was? The temperature I was running? The sores in my mouth & nose that all point to active lupus. As well as the Sjogerns was beyond active! He tried to discount diagnoses made by three of the most well respected doctors in the field - By The next appointment he had read some of my records and changed his tune. What bothered me the most was he actually yelled at me. This is unacceptable and abusive. His behavior was actually shocking. There wasn't a reason to yell. Augusto yelled at me when I telling him that I was having multiply challenges due to the nature of having SLE Lupus, Sjogerns, autoimmune IC pain bladder disease not uncommon with those with lupus & or Sjogerns- plus vascular disease (2 heart attacks starting young age and low BMI) from Lupus/Lyme and I was recently been treated for a Parasitic infection I contracted years ago (missed by multipurpose doctors over the years), my health complications are to numerous to list all- BUT back to the point I'm trying to make- I was telling him I had difficult time going places due I can't be in the sun ( Lupus rashes as well as makes Lupus very angry, I can't eat foods most people can due to IC bladder pain and I'd actually urinate blood if I drank orange juice or many foods most consider healthy. My immune symptom rejects them. I wasn't always this way. . Well the orange juice comment made Augusto turn red and yell, telling me that was not true. My friend asked Augusto to lower his voice and stated what I said was true. Augusto said he doesn't listen to the internet... well I said do you listen to the American Urolgist ??? I since sent him literature from American urology and Ww.ichelp.org mailed him a package directly concerning foods and drinks that trigger IC Pain. IC per Prevention Magazine is #8 most painful conditions at its worst. Trigger foods or drinks must be avoided. People can loose their bladders from IC and even there life. I hope he read them and learned this for his other patients who have IC. I told him lupus and IC often go hand in hand as well as Sjogerns and RA. Of course people can have Differnt levels of disease serverity with IC as well as any disease. He also advised me to suck on artificial sweetened lozenges for the extream dry mouth Sjogerns can cause. Great advise IF I didn't have IC!! Artificial sweetners are a major trigger for IC. Augusto YELLED some more! It was crazy- I hope he read the literature and furthered his knowledge to help others. Maybe he will seek anger you management help? Doctors don't seem to grasp the quality of life impact multiply diseases can have on a person. No sun, temperature changes bring pain, the never ending dryness from Sjogerns has caused me to have eye tissue peal off my eye. Heart attacks ect... intimacy is now impossible due to Sjogerns dryness. Been to multiply Gyno's and no help. It's sad. I have multiple infections due Lupus & Sjogerns. Bacterial & fungal. I was not whining to Augusto, I was sharing my experience hoping he may offer suggestions or perhaps offer one kind word of hope!! Augusto was abusive just like Trump! Augusto also placed a bag of ice in my hand to try to prove if had Raynaud's. I got angry and told him I wouldn't hold ice on my hand any longer due it was PAINFUL! He said I didn't have Raynaud's.... well I didn't make the diagnoses. I had 3 well respected experts from MA General in Boston and Brighams and Women's Hospital who published serval books on Lupus who diagnosed me and with lupus as well as Raynaud's. As well as another Texas doctors voted best in the state who confirmed years later the multiple diagnoses. Augusto also stated that for him to believe I was active with lupus I'd have to drop weight, 20 pounds! I'm 5'5" and I was 102 pounds at the time! I was skin and bones! If I dropped 20 pounds due to lupus I'd be dead! I had soars in my mouth & nose was running a low grade fever 24/7 and weight was falling off me. Night sweats and chills-. i was so sick and Augusto was blind. I had a dear friend with me at each appointment and he was shocked at Augustos mannerisms and lack of knowledge. This was my experience-
Dr. Posadas has helped me immensely get my joint pain & swelling under control.
