Dr. Aykut Tugertimur, MD

Dr. Tugertimur diagnosed my son's congenital heart defect when I was pregnant. He was our 2nd opinion but he treated our case like he had us in his care since I was diagnosed. When our son was born he was by us every time he could. I remember one day when my son was in PICU and having a seizure and seeing the Dr. running from his office and coming to our baby to make sure he was well. I am very grateful that he saved our son and care for him like if he was another of his kids. We love and miss him here in Orlando and wish him the best in his new hospital.

My daughter had a new patient appointment today. 1:15pm. I arrived due to traffic at 1:20pm. I work in healthcare, I’m a Vice President for a multi specialty practice, I know the importance of being on time. I know the new patient process and I fully understand how important being on time is since it affects the rest of the patients appointments. I was 5 minutes late. I had a new patient 1:15 appointment and a 1:30 actual appointment. When I first got there a receptionist greeted me asked who was I seeing then told me to please have a seat because she was attending to another patient. I waited. Patiently. Another receptionist apologized and said we’ll be right with you (purple hair). I said no problem. Still very patient. 10 minutes after my arrival the first receptionist again apologized then finally informed her colleague Dr. Tugertimer had an appointment. Another 5 minutes passed. Now it’s 1:35...Amanda his assistant comes out and tells the other receptionist. Not… me. The doctor isn’t going to see me. When I asked why? The other receptionist said she didn’t know why. I said I wasn’t late. I was waiting here patiently. I mean come on. Doesn’t this office have a 15 minute grace period? I took 1/2 the day off. Came all the way from Brooklyn. I said my daughters been having these issues for a while now. The receptionist apologized and said she was rescheduling me. That’s unacceptable. I don’t know if the staff were incompetent or the doctor. He didn’t have any other patients. His cut off time is 2pm. This is a specialist. A heart specialist. I’m not there for strep throat. My 17 year old has been experiencing chest pains for over a year. She’s been tachycardiac on more than 1 occasion. I’m was there to see a specialist and guess what this heartless specialist did? Turn her away. Well standing ovation to you. I applaud you. No compassion. Heartless. Shame on you. He should have asked what were we there for. Who’s fault was it? Not just simply say no I’m just too busy (again no other patients waiting for him) and I over heard the receptionist say we were his last patient again his cut off is 2pm...we got there at 1:20 yet he refuse to see a patient. A child experiencing chest pains. Shame. On. You. Yes. I’m taking her elsewhere. I’m going back to Brooklyn. I should have known better. Shame on you.

Dr Tugertimur is a true blessing to us. Our son was diagnosed with a heart defect at 20 weeks in utero and Dr T has been our sons cardiologist through his open heart surgery at birth and continues to be to date. He is truly an expert in his field and we always feel in such great hands. He is friendly and compassionate and we cannot thank him enough.
