Didn’t listen to my needs, full of himself. His fellow was of more value in helping with my new diagnosis

Bedside manor is non-existent. Pompous and arrogant know-it-all who provided me with a completely wrong diagnosis; while delivering it as if God himself proclaimed it. Wasted one-year and a lot of money trying cure my ailment. My condition seriously worsened. Had blood test run which confirmed my condition, and he refused to accept his original diagnosis was incorrect. Actually, blood test were run twice..... he was still in denial and then refused to treat me as a patient. He is upset that I, and other practitioners, questioned his opinion. He is a closed minded, disconnected (supposedly) health care practitioner who does not listen to his patients (or anyone) and will refuse future treatment if you disagree/challenge him. Do NOT waste your time with him. Were in Cleveland their numerous more qualified healthcare providers (not only at UH) but also Cleveland Clinic, and Metro. Don't settle for negative care. You should expect, and deserve, better.

I went to Dr. Arafah for one reason, only for it to be turned into something completely different. I had a number of tests done only to receive a call that some of the medication I was on would give false results and the tests would need to be repeated. He changed my blood pressure medicine at that point. After having done that and him finding what he felt is the problem he upped my diuretic. When I asked about the ORIGINAL problem he said that he is not sure, and he was not willing to do further testing. However he wanted me to take yet another medication which I told him made my heart palpitations worsen. He basically did not believe this could happen. He prescribed, I tried it, 2 days in my heart was going crazy. I sent a message to him of how unhappy I was about the treatment I received, and another telling him I was experiencing heart palpitations worse than I already had been. He didn't call until the next day after I called his office and left another message with the office… staff. He then left a voice mail that I can stop the medication and that I apparently didn't understand what he was telling me and that I needed to find a new doctor. Amazing. What doctors fail to realize is that they essentially work for you. It is your health, you have every right to question things, especially when things get overlooked. I do not recommend him to anyone.

I have been seeing Dr. Arafah for 5 years due to craniopharyngioma and Rathkes cleft cyst. I truly am blessed to be in his care. During this time, he has provided education, specialized skill and empathy as a patient and has had my quality of life as a priority through it all. I highly recommend him to anyone seeking specialized endocrine needs.

I adore and respect Dr. Arafah. He was an excellent Dr. for me and my sister Laura Oglesby at the time of our surgery. He was comforting and had a since of humor. I have Caresource and need to be referred to a Primary care doctor. If any one knows a good one, I trust him. I would like to see Dr. Arafah for a follow up because he is the best there is.
