She served in the Peace Corps in West …Africa as a high school physics and chemistry teacher in the French-speaking country of Benin before attending the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine from 1994 %u2013 1998. She completed her internship in Internal Medicine at Wilford Hall Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas before serving for four years as a captain in the United States Air Force. She served as both a staff physician and as medical director of the student health clinic which served 7000 to 8000 technical trainees annually. She completed a general adult psychiatry residency at the University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas, TX and a Fellowship in Forensic Psychiatry at the University of California, Davis (2006 %u2013 2007). She has been an assistant professor at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center since 2007.
Dr. Beadles has additional experience including correctional psychiatry at Sacramento County Jail. During her fellowship training in California, she served as a court appointed expert for the Superior Court of California County of Sacramento and as a forensic consultant on dangerousness risk assessments to Napa State Hospital. She is licensed to practice medicine in Texas, Indiana, Ohio and Pennsylvania. She completed three months of her medical school training in Zimbabwe.
