Dr.Szczech replaced both my knees. His skill as a surgeon in excellent. He is also one of the nicest physicians I have ever met. There isn’t anyone better.

Two years ago I began to experience problems with my walking to the extent that it was interfering with my daily life. I consulted numerous doctors but felt that no one understood my challenges which were complicated due to a birth defect in my left hip. When I was referred to Dr Bart, I had multiple visits with him as he was determining the plan of action consulting with colleagues along the way. Through this process I gained so much confidence in him as I felt his honesty and genuine care for me as a patient. A total right hip replacement was done. The surgery went very well but it revealed a significant amount of damage to the surrounding bone. Remarkably, the recovery still went smoothly. Ten months later, I began to experience excruciating left knee pain. It became so intense I was in constant pain unable to even walk around my home. After months of conservative treatment, it was determined that total knee replacement needed to be done.This was complicated by the fact I had a… rod in that leg from a shattered femur. This needed to be removed in order for the knee to be replaced. Once again, Dr Bart undertook this challenge and was able to combine these into one very successful surgery. Eight weeks post -op as we look at my x-rays, the outcome could not have been better. I am so thankful to have met this skilled surgeon. He has proven himself to be kind, compassionate and I could not be more pleased with the outcome. To my friends and family, he is known to me as “My Hero”. Nancy DeGrace
