Recently diagnosed with invasive breast cancer. Immediately started researching online for a Medical Oncologist as I knew moving forward this would be the person at the center of my care. During online searches I came across a Utube video presented by Dr Goueli, A must watch for all patients who have had or have cancer and their families. This compelling and motivating presentation allowed me to prepare for what was about to come after hearing the words, “I’m sorry you have cancer”. I am not one to write reviews but thought if just one person reads this and gets the gift of Dr Goueli overseeing their care it would be worth it. Dr Goueli is by far the most compassionate, knowledgeable, personable, trusting Dr I have ever come across. He took the time in detail to explain my diagnosis and plan of care, fully addressing every question and concern I had. During your appointment this Dr will make you his top priority. He will make you feel at ease and you will leave the appointment with a… new sense of confidence regarding your diagnosis. If you or a loved one have cancer request that you see Dr Gueli, trust me you won’t be disappointed !

Dr. Goueli cured my TNBC 3 years ago. He is the most caring, professional physician I have ever known. He brings the best of his heart and the best of his mind to his treatment of every patient. Finding him was a gift that cancer gave me. Knowing him and knowing that there are people in the world like him that devote their lives to healing us of the "Emperor of All Maladies", cancer, gives me hope for all of us. He is an example of a true healer, compassionate and kind, yet also creative and having a sense of humor too. He is a true Renaissance man.

I'm usually not the type to write positive or negative comments about things in my life. I have to write concerning my interactions with Dr.Goueli. When I was diagnosed with cancer it was by far the worst day of my life. Dr Goueli was a straight forward yet calming Doctor who took the lead in my care. His constant positive outlook has had a big influence on my outlook and I believe is a reason I am still doing well 3 years after my diagnosis. I not only called him my Doctor but consider him a friend. He was always looking outside the box for things that could help me. I still think he is the best...Greg Raymond

I have been informed the patient who wrote the slanderous response below was actually a male patient. It was not a female. The remainder of my response to his review is depicted below as I still treated him with incredible respect and dignity.

I am unsure who wrote the review listed below, but I feel obligated to respond to it. Between this site and two other sites, I have 36 reviews. 33 of those reviews are 5/5 stars, and the other three are 1/5 stars. One of the 1 star reviews was given to me by a 17-year-old girl whose mother died tragically of massive hemoptysis, due to her lung cancer infiltrating a blood vessel. Her mother had my cell phone number, which I had given her, and texted me about the hemoptysis (blood in the cough). I told her to go straight to the ER because people can die suddenly from such an event. She died shortly after arriving at the hospital. There was absolutely nothing any doctor could have done to prevent this, but I didn't respond to the 1 star review because I feel people are entitled to their opinions. For the same reason another 1 star review I have was given to me by a patient I never met. He actually writes that he never saw me, and was angry he couldn't get an appointment with me. … I didn't respond to this either because I felt he was entitled to this opinion. However, there is no way I can let the 1 star review depicted below go without a rebuttal. This person posted anonymously, and I suspect I know who it was, but I don't know for sure. I can tell you this patient was approximately 70 and had lymphoma (a cancer of lymphocytes that presents as enlarged lymph nodes). Her review is filled with lies. First, I always examine all lymph nodes in this context. Second, she had never received chemotherapy for the lymphoma, and was refusing to ever have it. She had radiation to the left inguinal lymph node she refers to her in review, which is exactly what I paid particular attention to because I was concerned she had recurrent disease. Importantly, I felt this lymph node above her pants. I did not go in her pocket, beneath her pants, beneath her underwear, etc. Indeed, even though this is not good clinical practice when trying to feel inguinal lymph nodes, I do this now because I am profoundly concerned that heretic individuals such as the one below may make accusations such as the one she did. To this end, I was no where near her private parts and was feeling the lymph nodes where the pelvis meets the leg laterally. She did have an enlarged lymph node in this region, which was disconcerting, but she wanted no investigation of this. I have never remotely sexually harassed a patient, nor would I ever. As she reports in her review, I expressly told her why I am was feeling the region in question and did it above her pants. I didn't touch her skin at all. It makes me extremely sad I had to write this, as it detracts from the numerous individuals who have legitimate concerns regarding sexual abuse. If I knew who this individual was I would readily sue her for slander and defamation of character because I am that confident of the interaction we had. I did not approach her from behind, as I never approach any patient from behind. This review is simply ludicrous, and I would love for this individual to come forward so I can adequately contest it. I give my patients all of me in terms of my heart and mind. All you need do is look at the youtube lectures I have given, reviews written on me, speak to anyone treated by me, etc. I am sorry I had to write this, but I felt it had to be said, and was my only recourse.

I thought my new H/O Dr. Goueli was going to be a good doctor, but he crossed the line, and I feel like he touched me inappropriately. He didn't check the lymph nodes in my neck or arm pits like my former retired H/O doctor. I had gotten up to leave and I didn't know Dr. Goueli had gotten behind me. He said he wanted to check something. He reached down and supposedly "felt for swollen lymph nodes in the left side of my groin!" (Through a cargo pant pocket, long t-shirt, and briefs?) He didn't check the right side. I was startled and intimidated. I have been extremely depressed over this as I have a past history of sexual abuse by males. I have stopped taking my chemo drug and refuse to go back to see Dr. Goueli. I discussed this with a nurse and social services, but have gotten nowhere. I guess I will be dead within a month or two. ...And Dr. Goueli is a "famous doctor?"

I feel blessed to have found Dr. Goueli. I wasn't happy with my current Oncologist and was talking with my plastic surgeon about it. He recommended talking with Dr. Goueli. I am so glad I did! He's incredibly intelligent, doesn't stop researching and has the biggest heart! I'm glad he's part of my care team!
