Dr. Basim Zuhdi Abdelkarim, MD

Dr. Basim Abdelkarim is the best gastroenterologist that I've ever seen. He is professional, knowledgeable, and caring. He takes his time to answer all of my questions. His demeanor is reassuring during procedures, an allergic reaction, and while being hospitalized. I totally trust this doctor and cannot say enough good things about him.

Every time I have gone I have had to wait over 2 hours. I asked his staff if I could call ahead and see if he is running late, they said yes but if you are not here within 15 min of your appt time (even he is running 2 hrs late) we will charge you and lose your appt. No respect for me, no respect for him and his staff. All arrogant

Arrogant, rude, uncaring, uncompassionate, unempathetic, negligent, cold, callous, vain, dismissive inaccessible, cocky, egotistical, and self-serving. I'm not surprised that he prefers aesthetic medicine over gastroenterolgy due to his narcissistic personality.

If you have any GI issues at all, Dr. A. is the man. He's incredibly proactive without being unnecessarily aggressive. He's kind, professional and extremely knowledgable. His staff is great and helpful as well. Clean office and great location for proximity to SACC & ambulatory surgery center.

He care about your feeling and does everything he can to help. You and find out your problem and with son being nonverbal it's nice to have someone who is patient with him and doesn't give up . Everyone in the office takes good care of you .

When I first started seeing Dr. A I was with another doctor and still horribly sick with Crohns disease. Dr A took me in with such care and enthusiasm for me to get better and still after 4 years is always concerned with me being the best I can be. He is great at being a doctor and does his research, I couldn't have asked for a better doctor, he is the best!

Finally an office who when I call answers the phone and I don't have to speak with a machine and press five different buttons to speak to a human!

The doc was very nice , I think he could have spent a little more time seeing me but no biggie. Office wait wasn't too long. Only distraction I had was when the office girl was giving me my instructions and going over my procedure the sound of her cellular phone vibrating on the table right next to my paprwork about 3 times. I found that unprofessional.

After many years of abdominal pain I finally got a diagnosis from Dr. Abdelkarim. I have been to other GI docs who just took the "old school" approach to medicine and did nothing. I am shocked by the previous review that you as a patient would complain about having a procedure done by "someone I did not know". Don't you think you should have asked all your questions prior to your procedure and then not complain afterwards- this is America and healthcare is as much a patients responsibility as it is the physician. Dr. Abdelkarim , his physician assistant and his office staff have always been knowledgeable and extremely helpful with any problem I have had. I thank my lucky stars I was referred to him and have a correct diagnosis. Thanks Dr. A!

this was the gi office that could get me in the quickest...being a ppo i had my choice of any doctor. unfortunately with my severe diagnosis ( diverticulitis) i needed an appt asap! Dr Abdelkarim's office knew the pain of my symptoms and got me in right away. the doctor was friendly, updated on all his info and answered all my questions. the girls up front were very kind. i was with my daughters and they even went out of there way to find cartoons to keep them entertained. little things like that is why i am sharing my experience. great overall office great overall experience.
