Dr. Bassam Kawadry, MD

I came in with my child experiencing acute abdominal pain, worried about serious conditions such as appendicitis, bowel obstruction, cholecystitis, or Meckel’s diverticulum. The wait to see the doctor was quite long, but once the consultation finally happened, it completely changed my perspective. The physician was extremely thorough and calm. He carefully assessed the situation and explained why each of the concerning diagnoses was unlikely in this case. I left feeling reassured and understanding the clinical reasoning behind his conclusions. Although he was willing to order any necessary investigations, he also clearly explained why they were not required at that time. As a physician myself from Ukraine, I can confidently say that his clinical experience in pediatrics—spanning more than 50 years—is evident in his judgment and approach. In the end, I understood that the extended wait was outweighed by the depth of expertise and clarity of care we received.

This is the second time we have encountered Dr K. I am not sure why all the negative reviews. He was purely amazing and best bed side manner, not only for the child, but for the stressed out mama. 2021- my 8 month old was hospitalized for RSV. He kept being released from the hospital and getting worse. I took him for the third time to the hospital. In panic. Tears. Defeated that my baby is struggling to breathe and is lethargic. The doctor looked at me and said, don’t worry mom. He’s not going anywhere. He is safe and we will make sure he gets better. He was then hospitalized for 4 days on High flow oxygen. He’s now a 5 year old with asthma. It was just not an RSV case that kept getting overlooked. Doctor K saw that and got us the treatment we needed. Fast forward to yesterday. My 18 month old was attacked by a dog. Her face slashed. She needed multiple stitches. Doctor K was not only gentle and attentive, he gave clear instructions. Also took his time with the stitches to ensure… her beautiful face would not be scarred. He’s requested we come in on his off day and he will personally remove the stitches, instead of going to the peds. He even took my phone and added a product to my Amazon cart that we needed to purchase at home for after care. He truly cares from start to finish. My husband and I both had a sense of relief as soon as we saw this doctor. We recognized him from the best care we had ever received.

My experience with this doctor at hospital was disappointing. The doctor was rude, unprofessional, and did not answer my questions clearly. This made the situation unnecessarily stressful.

The doctor like this not supposed to work in a hospital’s at all. Worth pediatric i ever seen.

I worked with Dr. Kawadry as a Nurse he is a great Doctor who takes his time with his patients and answers all of their questions. I was always glad to be working when he was there because I knew the patients would leave satisfied and with their questions answered.

I'm not exactly sure why the person below seemed to have such a bad perception... Before I review this doc, I'd say that I'd venture to say that him being foreign with a thick accent (I'm pretty sure I know where he's from) caused there to be a some lose in communication between him and the person below. He seemed like an extremely personable doctor, and truly kind when dealing with my child. Although, I must say, his cultural background might make his speech seem abrasive when he's actually being playful with the child; it's unfortunate that the previous reviewers review seems to be a mere clash of cultures. Anyways, Dr. Kawadry was truly attentive to my child's problem, and didn't just talk to us, but to my child (the patient)... I feel that is very important. I asked him about follow-up instructions, and he gave a very similar response to the one give to the previous reviewer, except he was nice; it's a matter of perception. Great doc... I would recommend him to anyone!

Dr. Kawadry "treated" my child at the NCH Emergency room. This man has the worst bedside manner I have ever seen!! He scolded my sobbing toddler while giving her stiches. Then when he was giving me instructions on how to care for the wound at home he became extremely rude. I asked for some clarification and his response was that I should just listen to his instructions and then do whatever I feel is best when I get home. What a horrible doctor and what a rude, insensitive and condescending person!
