Dr. Beatrice Smith Desper, MD

I was recommended to dr desper by a coworker. I found her quirky during the office visit. I googled her name the next day and found a very disturbing article about her past practice She is very rough during the physical exam and does a rectal exam. You will be sore after. I wish I had seen this article about her past with the DEA investigation for a pain clinic raid and the reprimanding of her license before coming here. I would avoid this doctor at all cost.

She was so very opened and did not make me feel uncomfortable at all during my visit. The wait time was not very long, and she was very understanding with all of my problems. I would definitely refer her to other females in the area!

Waited over an hour for my appointment, no apology ever received for my wait. Didn't look over my file, and when asked why I was there by Dr. Bea, she cut me off to complain about OTHER PATIENTS to me, and never let me finish telling her why I was visiting. Was forced into a physical examination, which is not necessary for every visit, especially for my visit regarding hormonal acne. During my unwanted physical exam, she made weird remarks like "wow" and "Uhhh", when asked if something was wrong, she responded with "oh nothing". Relentlessly pushed her political agenda on me for the position she was running for as coroner, and made me insist I'd tell everyone to vote for her. A year later, I'm still suffering from the issue I went to her for, unhappy with the medication she prescribed to me, a student, that is $50 a month AND NOT EVEN RECOMMENDED For acne treatment. So unprofessional. So unhelpful. Stay away.

My daughter is 17 years old. Never been to a gynecologist. She has a history of having really heavy painful periods. Also, had a very large cyst on ovary. Dr. Desper did not even examine her, so she could see exactly what is going on with her. She talked with us for about 10 minutes and threw some birth control pills to us. Very irresponsible doctor, she should have at least examined her or made sure the pills were okay for her to take. I did not let my daughter take them and I am scheduling an appointment with another doctor. Dr.Desper looked like she didn't want to take the time or effort to do a complete checkup. Completely irresponsible in my opinion!!

I only had to wait 10 minutes.This was my first time as a patient in her pratice.I was there for an annual visit.She asked lots of questions about my health.I was not rushed.It was a good exam.I will be back to see her.ome ideas to get you started:-Write about overall experiences-Write about what you like or dislike about your physician-Write about whether you would recommend-Write as if you are talking to a peer who is asking your opinion

After seeing various ob/gyn's and being treated as though I was drug seeking by asking for homone replacement therapy I finally found Dr. Desper. She took the time to talk to me and understand my individual and particular circumstances, symptoms and problems. I also had conflicting Ultra-sound reports and she ordered another from an independent source to be sure that all was in order. Woman to woman, she listens to what you are experiencing, non-judgementally and seeks the right medical therapy tailored to your individual needs and concerns. I would recommend any woman who has a gyn problem to seek the help of Dr. Desper for answers. She is experienced and through, leaving no question unanswered that can be answered through today's medical tests and technology. She also accepts Medicaid, which shows she cares for all patients regardless of their social status.I trust Dr. Desper with my health and appreciate a doctor who takes her hippocratic oath seriously. She takes her time during… your consultation, giving you the benefit of her 28 years of treating female patients as an OB/GYN.

Dr. Desper herself is not too bad, BUT her staff is under qualified and gives out inaccurate results. I had to call back 3 times to get the correct ultrasound results and diagnosis. Dr does not explain anything to you, and please dont call and try to get any answers in regards to your condition , they will put in a "note" and you will have to wait 1-2 days to get back an answer. ALSO----Something that I thought was just ABSURD was the fact that they send negative tests results to you ON A POSTCARD for the entire post office to see!!

This lady is dangerously inaccurate. I would not recommend trusting something as important as a pregnancy with this doctor or her office. We immediately switched doctors after she haphazardly told my sister that she was not pregnant, and then later lost the baby. It's very upsetting to see a doctor be so careless.
