Dr. Benjamin Ross Wilson, MD

The staff is absolutely amazing. Dr. Benjamin Wilson-not, I would never recommend him to anyone I care about. Run away. Extremely egotistical, confrontational, defensive, condescending and patronizing. Sent to him via referral from my GYNO only because he does a robotic approach for surgery. Needed to have my right ovary removed due to a large hemorrhagic cyst and medical necessity. After surgery I as well as family members and friends were shocked at my extensive bruising in my abdomen and even somehow under my eye. Called him 3 days post op concerned with my pain level he was very defensive and said it was my anxiety that was exasperating my pain and that I should do some yoga (yoga, 3 days post op). Not even suggestions as to why I was hurting so bad, just complete disregarded my concerns and told me to go to the ER. After the ER visit it was explained to me my pain level could be due to some fluid build up around incisions or due to a tolerance built up for the pain medicine… because of the couple of weeks needed to use pain medicine to manage pain from a large cyst until we could do the surgery to remove the cyst and ovary. Which made sense but I didn’t understand why instead of discussing things with me medically and professionally, Dr. Wilson opted for passing me off to an ER department. At the first post op appt I was concerned with my still high pain level especially with me having had a robotic surgery and having pain even after about a week to two weeks post surgery. Instead of speaking to me as a patient who was concerned, he was condescending and patronizing. First thing he said when he came into the appointment was to complain about my “difficulty” surgery and that I gave him grey hair due to being so difficult. My abdomen was swollen and I was hurting and whenever I would try and explain my pain and concerns he would over talk me and say there is no reason for me to still be hurting and shouldn’t be hurting a week post op. To which I would respond that’s why I was concerned and why I was talking to him about it, he then stated that he would not be giving me more narcotics and I became agitated because again he was just simply disregarding my concerns and not giving me any explanation as to why I was hurting and told me it was my anxiety and that he needed to just speak to my husband because I just didn’t like the way he talked and that wasn’t his fault. My husband was shocked with the way he spoke to me and how extremely unprofessional and completely disrespectful Dr. Wilson was. He sent me over to the ER again because he didn’t want to deal with it and low and behold the ER found that I had another large cyst on my left ovary. After about almort a couple weeks I had to call the office to speak to his staff since he never called to go over the findings in the ER. Said I would need to come in again to discuss it. Again another visit and again extremely condescending and disrespectful but thankfully not as bad as the appointment before (most likely due to the nurse he brought in with him and my friend that came with me to the appointment). Even so he was dismissive to any concerns I had in regards to pain and I had to even ask if it could be due to the extensive adhesions and lesions I had removed and he shrugged and then said I was almost 4 weeks post op and shouldn’t be hurting to which I said I know that’s why I'm concerned and want to make sure nothing is wrong and again he was patronizing and condescending and even my friend who came with me to the appointment had to speak up and again redirect him to acknowledge my concerns and possibly help explain them. Asked if the large cyst would need surgery and he mentioned a medical journal article about how every issue a woman has isn’t a need for surgery and that if he removed my left ovary it would put me into early menopause 20 years before necessary and cause me to be angrier at everyone more so than I already am. At that point my friend and I quickly ended th
