More about Dr. Bernard Mark Aaron
Dr. Aaron has been in practice since 1977 in Ocean and Monmouth counties. He did his undergraduate work at Hobart College in Geneva, New York. Dr. Aaron obtained his M.D. degree from the State University of New York, Downstate Medical Center in 1969. His internship and residency in internal medicine were done at St. Vincent's Hospital in New York City and at Greenwich Hospital in Greenwich, Connecticut. Dr. Aaron then completed a two year fellowship in gastroenterology at the Manhattan Veterans Administration Hospital in New York City. After spending two years as a Lieutenant Commander in the United States Navy, he moved to Long Island where he was the acting chief of gastroenterology at the State University of New York, Stonybrook Medical School until coming to this area in 1977. Dr. Aaron is boarded in both internal medicine and gastroenterology. He is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and a Fellow of the American College of Gastroenterology. Dr. Aaron is a member of the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and the New York Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. Since February 2000, Dr. Aaron has been on the volunteer faculty of Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, where he holds a faculty appointment as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine. He teaches physical diagnosis to second year medical students and offers a gastroenterology elective to third year medical students. Dr. Aaron is a past chief of gastroenterology at Ocean Medical Center. He is a senior full attending at Ocean Medical Center and is an attending at Jersey Shore University Medical Center. Dr. Aaron is married to Susan and has four grown children and two grandchildren. When he is not spending his leisure time with family, he enjoys playing piano, violin, and golf.
