Dr. Bernstein listened intently to me, and addressed my comments and concerns in a clear, concise and seemingly unhurried manner. I couldn't ask for a better Dr and so appreciate that we have this caliber of surgeon locally.

The one attribute I find in every profession I have come across - which results in excellence - is a love and passion for what one does. Dr. Berntsen has that quality. I highly recommend her. I was scheduled for my second Hemorrhoidal Banding the day I met with Dr. Bernita Berntsen. Her nurse seemed confused as to what I was scheduled for and asked me if I was there for a recheck. I informed her I was there for my 2nd banding. She asked me to wait in the room while she found an appropriate room with a flat laying bed. A few minutes later Dr. Berntsen came into the original room I had been put in, with an incline exam table. She asked me if I was still experiencing bleeding and I answered not since a few days past the last banding. She then asked me if I wanted her to just check everything was ok or do I want her to look for and band, if found more hemorrhoids. She seemed very reluctant to do the procedure I was scheduled for. I told her since it had taken me so long to finally get the help I needed (30 years) and I was paying her for the visit anyway, I wanted her to do the procedure. She did the procedure but was not very careful and caused me considerable discomfort. … Even though my first specialist told me I would need at least 3 visits, Dr Berntsen said I was done unless I experienced bleeding again. I was confused by her reluctance to do the treatment and her lack of preparation in knowing what I was scheduled to see her for. She did not give a good impression, nor did her nurse.

I have had 2 surgeries performed by Dr. Burntsen and she is an excellent doctor. Very professional and to the point which I like. She will give you the time you need but also very efficient so need to be prepared with your questions when you go for the appointment. Both surgies went without a hitch. I would trust her with all my needs in her field of expertise.
