Dr. Beth D Dayton, MD

Dayton performed a double mastectomy in May 2017. At the hospital in the middle of the night I passed out getting out of bed to use the restroom. Code blue, CPR. Right back into major surgery, internal bleeding. Got through that. But when all was said and done. I have a lot of skin hanging on the sides of my chest and arms. I am a petite person. 5'3" 125. Three years later, I live with this abnormality. I chose not to get reconstructive (implants) surgery. Perhaps that would fix the deformation. I really liked her and put my faith in her professional field. However, when she suddenly retired at a young age, I have been wondering if it was there have other botched surgeries... I truly wish her the best. Not sure if she did her best for me.

I first met Dr. Dayton at Salem Hospital’s ER after having previously been misdiagnosed by a doctor in CA who told me I was over reacting and probably just had IBS. I was visiting my son in Salem at the time. I had been experiencing extremely painful intestinal discomfort for weeks which intensified daily. The day after arriving in Salem, my son had to rush me to the ER. Dr. Dayton ordered tests and discovered that I had a blood clot that was literally bursting through my bowel. If she had not discovered what the other CA doctors had missed I would not be here today. She performed immediate bowel resection surgery and oversaw my care for two weeks until I could fly back home. Three months later I flew back and she did a colostomy take down surgery. She was an extremely competent and caring doctor and I highly recommend her!
