Dr. Birgit Rakel, MD

I can’t say enough good things about Dr. Rakel. She is A +++. She correctly diagnosed a problem that several other physicians had missed, and in doing so very likely saved my life. She is smart, knowledgeable, and caring. She listens. She follows up. She very carefully and thoughtfully prescribed just the right treatments. I honestly couldn’t ask for anything more in a doctor.

Dr Rakel is a wonderful doctor. She is very thorough and very kind.

Dr. Rakel is passionate and attentive, and will go far beyond what's expected from a care provider. She was the only one who understood what was wrong with me, identifying the specialists I should see and the areas I should cover (my primary care doc was clueless). She will listen to you carefully and take all the time you need to discuss about your problems and prospects. She has a conservative approach and won't give you medicines you don't need. Overall, she's genuinely interested in your wellbeing, will call or email you for quick updates, which is very reassuring. She will make you feel better just for being on your side.

If I could give a negative star review I would. I found Dr Rakel to be lacking in diagnostic skills and short sighted in her approach to treatment methodologies and clearly did not listen to her patients feedback. The so called integrated approach used in her office fuels this attitude as information shared with another doctor there in confidence (counseling session regarding patients past) made its way into a tirade from Dr Rakel when her frustration mounted. Unprofessional? I'd say a breach of doctor/patient confidentiality. Beware of this office, this practice and this doctor in particular. Steer well clear.

This is the best doctorI have ever had in my life -- and I am 68! She is a homepath, she gives B venom injections, she has studied with Dr. Andrew Weil and gives intelligent infomation about alternative medicine. And she has a sense of humor as well as a wonderful, warm personality

Dr. Rakel is a wonderful physician. She's thorough, caring, sensitive, and compassionate. I appreciate her knowledge about integrative medicine and how she artfully melds it with allopathic medicine as needed.
