The word doctor means teacher. I enjoy helping my patients live a healthy lifestyle and working together with them to treat illness as it may occur. I encourage them to ask questions and to participate in caring for their health and in health care decisions. I earned my M.D. in 1978 from the University of Cincinnati Medical School in Ohio. My internship and residency in Internal Medicine were completed at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Board Certified in Internal Medicine, I am also a Fellow in the American College of Physicians. Professionally, I take special interest in women’s health. Away from the clinic, I enjoy spending time with my husband and two sons, singing in the church choir, exercising and gardening.
