I was having severe leg pain, was unable to sit or sleep. Dr D performed surgery where he removed part of a lower disc that was pressing on my nerve. Immediately the pain was gone. Additionally my insurance company wasn’t willing to pay for the surgery. Dr D went to bat for me insisting that PT and shots were not going to do anything, and that surgery was the only option. He is a very kind, and very caring physician. I highly recommend him.

Dr. Darakchiev did a single level cervical fusion on my neck in 2019 at Good Samaritan Hospital. He was highly recommended by one of the best neurologists in Long Island. I am so grateful for the referral. I was losing abilities in my left hand mostly, and within an hour of surgery, I started getting feeling back in my hand. He is also a personable physician who listened to my concerns, and answered all my questions. Good Samaritan's OR staff was also excellent. For anyone looking for an alternative to Hospital for Special Surgery that is closer to home/on Long Island (where my previous procedures were), he is the surgeon to go to.

After having dizzy spells and headaches I had gone to my gp only to find that I had a tumor in the membrane of my head. Shocked, worried and incredibly frightened;Dr Darachiev was recommended to me by my doctor and family as one of the leading neurosurgeons in the area. He saw me immediately after an MRI and cat scan. He was caring , direct and clear on my options. He spoke to family and supplied us with information which, frankly, I was too shocked to ask. His confidence and warm approach reassured us, while making sure I waited and wanted for nothing. I entered the hospital on Monday morning directly after my consultation and was operated on the following Wednesday. The operation was completely successful and I truly believe that is due to the wonderful doctor I was lucky enough to have. I left the hospital on Friday evening ,received a call from the doctor on Saturday to see how I was and have seen him since to check on the sutures as well as my well being. Thank you doctor. My husband unknowingly suffered from a very rare disorder, that often leads to death or brain damage. He had Epidural Spinal Accesses, difficult to pick up in early stages and often (as in my husbands case) other doctors fail to diagnose it. (His other doctor's seen regularly just said "he had a back back) Upshot is my husband went to Emergency, they almost let him go home as abcess's don't show up in regular E-Rays even hard to see so they say in MRI's...but thank God Dr. Darachiev saw it in time, the abcess's were sizeable enough to erupt at any time and that would have been deadly for my husband. I thank God we went to Good Sam, and thank God for this Doctor, as I am almost convinced had we gone elsewhere, or had a different doctor. my husband very well could be with us no more or left parayzed or brain damaged. Thank God for this Doctor....

Excellent Doctor, office staff a little rash with ease of appointment having to explain each time why I want to see the doctor considering there is about 5 of them behind the main desk they should know especially if my husband had a brain tumor. Dr. Darakacheiv was awesome awesome awesome excellent surgeon and cares about his patients.

11 centimeter bleed on left side of brain determined by cat scan upon arrival to er.excruciating pain dr. darakacheiv was called in for emergency surgery.The surgery was a great success and the aftercare was excellant. Great job.

Dr. D was so concerned about me. I truly went to this concultation thinking why am I coming here. He spent so much time with me and very concerned about my problems. Maybe the person who had to wait so long would appreciate it if she was the one given this caring attention.Can not answer on follow ups, however if have to wait will not bother me because he is giving the patient the same wonderful concern I received.

He diagnosed my problem and had no hesitation in advising of the exact procedure needed and his confidence in it fixing my problem. Two days after the surgery I was pain free when before the surgery I was about to committ suicide the pain was so severe. My follow-ups with him were terrific and my recovery was exactly as he told me. My highest recommendation possible for his ability, caring and follow-up.
