Dr. Brandon Heath Kilgore, MD

Dr. Kilgore was born and raised in the Oklahoma panhandle and southwest Kansas. He graduated from Liberal High School and was admitted to the highly-selective Rochester Early Medical Scholars. He received his Bachelor of Arts in philosophy from the University of Rochester, Rochester, NY. He subsequently obtained his M.D. at the University of Rochester School of Medicine. Dr. Kilgore then completed the five year general surgery residency training program at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in Oklahoma City.

Shortly after joining Edmond General Surgery, he passed both written and oral examinations for board certification in General Surgery; as such, he is a Diplomate of the American Board of Surgery. Dr. Kilgore is also a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.

Dr. Kilgore operates and cares for a full range of general surgical patients with particular interests in abdominal, gastrointestinal, and minimally-invasive surgery. He is available for both inpatient …consultation and clinic evaluation, urgently as necessary. Dr. Kilgore understands that illness is often stressful and anxiety-provoking for both patients and their families; consideration of surgery can compound these concerns and bring many questions. Dr. Kilgore strives to spend time educating each patient about his or her disease and intended surgery, compassionately answering any questions that arise, and as best possible, minimizing the stress and inconvenience of surgical care. Likewise, he attends before, during, and after the operation with an emphasis on pain control, minimizing complications, and speeding recovery.
