Dr. Smetana is an awesome doctor/surgeon. Would highly recommend him and his staff to anyone that is in need of an exceptional physician. He went over and beyond for anything I needed before, during and after surgery to my arm and elbow. Without his expertise not sure how my arm would be today. Was professional and personable. This doctor and his staff mean a lot to me and my family!!

I was requesting a second opinion regarding an injury to my wrist that was requiring surgery. I had exhausted all the alternative care and as a last result surgery was being recommended. I felt the need to seek a second opinion before I pursued that as a last step. I first met with Dr. Smetana to review my records and he concurred with my diagnosis however he suggested we go one step further before pursuing surgery. I stayed with him for the next three months. I felt very competent in his approach and with his suggestions to try to postpone surgery as long as possible. Although I finally reached a point where surgery was necessary, I felt every angle had been pursued before surgery was taken. Dr. Smetana was clear and precise at every visit as to what was going to happen, how it would feel and what I could expect every step of the way. I think that's why I decided not to return to my first doctor. I felt very competent with Dr. Smetana and would recommend and would return without hesitation to him for any further needs I have in the future. I thought his bedside manner was impeccable. He is very professional give his young appearance and don't let that food you. He is very competent. He is full of knowledge. It was a pleasure working with him. Jane Grief
