Let’s talk pain. I have a very low pain threshold. So yesterday after my procedure my pain was off-the-charts excruciating. I even went to the ER to get 4mg IVP morphine. Personally I don’t think any doctor shld be doing this procedure without sending a low pain-threshold pt home w a postop opioid analgesic (Roxanol sublingual concentrated liquid morphine 20mg/ml is what works best for ME). This botox RCPD procedure pain was as bad as my adult tonsillectomy at age 36, which also landed me in the ER the next day. Thank god my ENT tonsillectomy doc had the common sense, logic, & compassion to prescribe me the Roxanol. I truly feel my RCPD doc, Brent Richardson, at Bastian Voice Institute was inhumanely cruel & negligent in not providing me with the Roxanol post-op pain control regimen that i told him i *KNEW* i was going to need. Patients are not one-size-fits-all individuals who shld be given the same cookie-cutter postop pain control regimen. And compassionate doctors, unlike Dr… Richardson, shld be individualizing what each pt’s postop pain control regimen needs. The ridiculous opioid paranoia hysteria world we live in today clearly deprives pts of getting adequate pain control. And Dr Richardson shld be ashamed of himself for not listening to his pts’ analgesia needs. If you have a low pain threshold like me, do not attempt this procedure without an opioid analgesic as part of your postop pain control regimen. You will definitely need it the first week. Had Dr Richardson simply provided me a little bit of postop Roxanol like I asked, I cld have avoided the trip to the ER (where they gave me IVP morphine anyway) as well as another $2k medical bill. SHAME ON YOU DR BRENT RICHARDSON FOR NOT LISTENING TO YOUR PATIENTS’ NEEDS!

Dr Richardson is a great dr but the office staff are total morons

His calm presence and great listening skills make for a professional, relaxed appointment. I did not feel rushed and felt he gave me his full attention. Consult, exam and testing were all done in the office by Dr. Richardson so you have a diagnosis and a plan for treatment that he walks you through before you leave. I would recommend him to family and friends in a heartbeat. His staff was also very helpful and had a professional presence.
