Dr. Brett Haywood, MD

I get cortisone shots in my shoulder every 3 months. I hate needles, but I don't see it and the pain has always been very minimal. I saw Haywood a week ago, as the regular person is on maternity leave. He didn't' let the numbing agent take affect, just jammed the needle in, I screamed a few choice naughty words, then he said "shots hurt" but IT'S NEVER HURT LIKE THAT BEFORE!! I really believe he did it on purpose. He did a completely unnecessary surgery on my hip just over a year ago. He was the Dr on call. I had a rash on my hip replacement scar, even though the ct scan showed zero fluid indicating an infection, I had NO FEVER & NO PAIN, after waiting from Saturday at noon until Sunday at MIDNIGHT, he did surgery. My original hip DR, informed me my hip was PRISTINE. I had CELLULITIS. Because he cut through a skin infection, I had a pic line to my heart and had to administer heavy duty antibiotics for 6 weeks twice a day!! AWFUL. They kept me in the hospital from Saturday through… Friday, I asked, when can I go home. I was told, when the cultures grow....finally, they told me the cultures would not grow, because they had administered SEPSIS PROTOCOL. It was a nightmare. I was going to let that go, but I feel like because of his poor decision, he wanted to punish me by causing a tremendous amount of pain when giving me the cortisone shot. What happened to his OATH? DO NO HARM?? I wouldn't let this guy treat my dog.

Dr. Haywood is a great Dr. He listens & explains things well. He doesn't rush his patient. I have seen Dr. Haywood 10 yrs ago for my Right shoulder when he was in Casa Grande. So I followed him 10 yrs later because of the faith I have in him as a physician

We love Dr. Haywood. Knees are always tricky and we are very confident in his talents!

The pain in my knee subsided, Dr. Haywood operated and fixed my torn meniscus. I feel, and walk 100% better. I'd absolutely use him again, if necessary.

Would not recommend this doctor to anyone. He doesn't seem to care about you as a patient and doesn't seem to know your case. He spends too much time outside examination rooms just talking with staff while you wait for a very long time for him to come in the room. The office staff is useless. They don't know about patients and never return calls. When you call the office, you get voice mail most of the time. They make so many mistakes it's worrisome.

The MRI results that were supposed to be sent to his office for pre review were not available. Dont know what happened to them. I found myself diognosing my problem to him rather that the opposite. When I asked what my options were, the answers were very vauge ind disinformative. I did not set up a follow-up visit as I will pursue a different DR

My visit was not a good experience. Felt he was unprepared. Felt like I was the one offering what my options are, rather than he tell me.

Wasted to much time talking about personal things and laughing with staff outside exam room instead of taking care of his patients. Had to wait a very long time before coming into exam room. Was very pleased at first and did recommend him to others but not anymore.
