I have had personal GI problems for years, which is not surprising considering a family history that includes colon and esophageal cancers, bowel obstructions, diverticulitis, IBD, IBS, celiac and Barrett’s,etc. I have moved many times around the country and have seen multiple gastroenterologists throughout the years. My GERD, which caused erosive esophagitis, gave me constant pain, even in the middle of the night as acid flowed into my mouth, choking me. I have taken numerous prescription medications through the years and nothing worked. I had a constant sore throat and overate to get the acid out of my mouth and throat. I surrounded myself with bottles of Tums. Dr Brian Dooreck was recommended by Dr Karen Ruthman (great physician) after a very unpleasant experience at a nearby GI office 3 years ago. (That doctor did an upper and lower endo, found the same results as Dr Dooreck, and wouldn’t discuss/offer treatment after my ride made an unpleasant toupee comment within… earshot.) Dr. Dooreck changed my life. He cured me of the GERD and for the 1st time in 35 years, I don’t have esophageal pain. Without trying, I have dropped 17 pounds with no effort – just by not overeating to stop the constant burn when the Pepcid, Zantac, Prevacid, Tagamet, Tums, etc., didn’t work. For the very first time, a follow-up endoscopy showed the area had healed!!! I am grateful to his very kind staff: Maria, Gurshin, scheduler Anne-Marie and Nurse Holly who were all helpful and communicative. Dr. Dooreck has an interesting speaking manner as he collects your history, but he is very communicative and thorough. (He reminds me of some of my super-braniac students – This is the smart guy I want). He listens and explains. I have more GI and other issues and he kindly referred me to some other great doctors and has communicated with them. I am SO grateful for walking in his office. Thank you, Dr Dooreck and staff!!

I do not recommend this doctor to anyone, the entire office does not coordinate things in an efficient way and his staff is unprofessional and rude. The two times I called to ask a question about my husband’s colonoscopy and follow-up on a referral, Ann Marie was very rude and unprofessional, she raised her voice and had a disrespectful tone. When I told her that she shouldn't talk to me like that, she disconnected the phone call. My husband who also heard her rude tone, called his insurance company and filed a complaint against this office and this woman who shouldn't be working with patients since she does not know how to treat people and does not have compassion, especially when working with Medicare patients.

Visited Dr Dooreck for colonoscopy procedure on Dec 2020. The procedure was a breeze, the nurse staff is very polite, anesthesia Dr was very good. The entire procedure was very quick and spoke to the Dr about the findings right after the procedure and also later that day. This is something I had reservations on doing, but now I am recommending friends and family not to procrastinate and get this test completed. It saves lives.
