Dr. Richard Brian Mackey

When I saw him for a wrist issue, we tried the cheaper option (injection), but on the second visit, he talked through the options then let me decide if to try another shot, give it time, or surgery. I went with surgery and it went perfect and have no issues since. I went back in for tennis elbow & he asked about the wrist, and gave me a good understanding of the issue & said that therapy makes the most sense at this time. He gave me a listing of various PT folks he recommends. We then chatted as friends for a minute or two before he had to leave. Great bedside manner & very knowledgeable.

I have seen Dr. Mackey 3-4 times over the past 2-3 yrs. He is a great doctor who listens to what you say, and explains everything in a way that the average person can understand. He is very personable and friendly. He actually called me after re-reviewing my x-rays done at the office and talking with the radiologist and finding something that he felt needed further investigation. He then ordered further studies and found something(s) that I did not know about previously. I appreciate Dr. Mackey's thoroughness and care for his patients. I recommend Dr. Mackey highly to anyone.

Dr. Mackey always takes the time to explain things to me in detail. I am not afraid to ask questions no matter how dumb I may think they are. He is very people friendly, professional, and knowledgeable about what is does.

My hand became an issue two weeks after surgery tried to get an appointment - called at 8:30 a.m. and can not get an appointment until the next day. Ridiculous since I am in severe pain and my finger is swollen to twice its normal size.

I had a middle metacarpal fracture which needed immediate surgical attention. He got me scheduled for surgery the next day in the South Jordan Surgical Specialty Clinic. The facility itself was very ice along with Dr. Mackey's team of surgical specialists. He did a phenomenal job with putting the screws and plates in my hand. Post-surgery he accommodated my every need for a speedy and easy recovery. He set me up with an incredible physical therapist who helped me regain full function of my hand in less than a month! Don't hesitate any further! Dr. Mackey is the way to go!
