Everyone was great including Dr. Palumbo. I appreciated the 12 exercises on a pamphlet.

I love this doctor!!! But I need an appointment for an MRI…I’m in pain and it’s not possible to get to the doctor’s staff

Dr.Palumbo and staff are excellent. Dr.Palumbo spends all the time you need discussing your health care. He is very kind and caring. I would recommend him for your ortho needs.

Dr. Palumbo comes highly recommended by many of my friends and neighbors. At each appointment I have had he has patiently explained the procedure and made sure he answered every question to my satisfaction. He will be doing a hip replacement for me in May and I am confident it will be a success.

In a nutshell, I went to him to ask about a knee replacement. He entered the room, didn't introduce himself, said "your incision will be this big (used fingers to show the length), and you'll need to stretch every hour, do you have questions?". He didn't bother to review my xray or MRI results with me. So I had a ton of questions. We got through 4 of them. I told him about a past experience with a surgeon and he either didn't listen or didn't care. I told him about my allergies and sensitivities, he didn't respond. I told him I need a shoulder replacement too so using a walker or crutches post-op may be hard for me, and he didn't respond to that either. When I asked how he would manage my pain post-op (my last surgeon didn't) he bristled. Basically I asked for very little Tylenol because I have a sensitivity to it and he said no. He said he prescribes hydrocodone, no exceptions. He bragged about the number of patients who come through his door, said his 'one size fits all' approach worked for him, then asked me to leave. He has some decent reviews, but also has some really bad ones from people who had issues post-op. TRUST THOSE REVIEWS. It was very obvious that the number of patients who came through his door was much more important to him that making sure each individual patient was treated appropriately based on their individual needs. I've been there with arrogant surgeons before and have zero interest in doing it again.

A decent, ethical surgeon must be able to thoroughly provide realistic expectations, discuss risks, and must be able to assist you through any complications. Palumbo does none of these things. Instead he over promises benefits, does not explain risks, and refuses to see his patients once the surgery is done. My friend received a partial knee implant from Dr. Brian Palumbo. He pushed the partial knee implant like it was a miracle cure. He declared it better than the total knee implant. He said not only do you heal much faster, but the implant is anchored to the bone instead of being cemented, which means it has a longer life span and you can have a more active lifestyle. He even said it was better than a total knee implant. After getting the partial implant, my friend didn’t heal. In fact, weeks after the surgery, the pain was worse than it was before the surgery. My friend was plagued with instability, needing a cane for stabilization. How did Brian Palumbo correct this error? He cancelled all future appointments. He cancelled my friend’s appointment a week before forcing her to call back and reschedule and then a week before the rescheduled appointment he cancelled again. And again. The hold time on the phone to make an appointment is about 40 minutes. So now picture yourself in tremendous pain, and the only person who can help you, the actual surgeon, is doing everything in his power to avoid seeing you. Her medical records he wrote that he went over the apparent risks of a partial knee implant, which include persistent pain and instability. He never did this at all. After seeking the help of other doctors, they explained that a partial knee implant should never have been offered because the arthritis in my friend’s knee wasn’t localized. You can see it in the X-rays and MRI. Palumbo didn’t even remove all the arthritis, which means the surgery was for nothing. Unfortunately, we didn’t learn until after the surgery, that Brian Palumbo had been sued for completing a partial knee implant on the wrong side of a person’s knee, and he had been sued for inflicting drop foot on some of his patients. These are mistakes that any astute and skillful surgeon would have avoided. You can see a record of his lawsuits in the Florida Department of Insurance Regulation. As for Florida Orthopaedic Institute, they not only keep employing Brian Palumbo, but they offer no security for your medical records. They exposed the medical information of 150,000 patients. My advice is to avoid Brian Palumbo and Florida Orthopaedic at all costs. They only care about making money. Once your surgery is complete, they dispose of you.

Great doctor !

After trying shots for my knee pain, I decided to proceed with surgery. Dr. Palumbo has a smoothing personality which is rare for a doctor and he actually listened to me. His P.A. Brian Wicker is Wonderful too. He listened and wanted to make sure you were comfortable with their recommendations. After surgery I actually walked immediately upon getting to my room and had no pain. However, after 3 days I did feel it! With home care, I was bending my knee 110 degrees within 2 weeks and only used a cane after about a week. I have recommended them to several people. I am very happy with the results and minimum down time!

Dr. Palumbo replaced both of my knees, 3 months apart. He is an excellent surgeon with great outcomes! The hospital nurses all state that he is one of the best at knee replacements! I highly recommend him to anyone needing knee replacement surgery!

This was the 5th knee replacement surgery on my right knee, and it was complicated to say the least. I had many consultations with orthopedic surgeons until I was finally referred to Dr. Palumbo, as a "super specialist" who could do the job. Although this was the most difficult surgery I had ever had, I had the easiest recovery. In 9 days after surgery, I was able to walk,with minimal pain, with one walking stick. Now after 5 weeks, I have complete extension of my leg with 120 degrees of bend...fully functional....no pain. I was completely compliant with Dr. Palumbo's instructions and did my PT exercises daily and 3 times a week with the therapist. I used the ice machine frequently to reduce swelling after exercise, and took tylenol for any pain after 9 days. I am so grateful for Dr. Palumbo for giving me my life back. I will resume golf next week, and tennis and pickleball in about 3 more weeks. Planning to continue working on deep knee bends so that I can sit in my kayak again.

Very desapointed I did wait to see him almost 2 hrs and before see him I did see 2 people . Finally he talk to me about my knee I need replacement. Before I left I did ask what is the next step for my surgery nobody knows nothing I did call next day to his assistant.she said she doesn’t know. Then she called and said Dr is not taken no more patient because before me he has 31 for surgery my questions. Why he see me ? To take money from my insurance? Should be more professional I did travel from Saint Cloud.1hr and 45 minutes. I’m not recommend this Dr.

1st visit was cancelled when I arrived. 2nd visit wait time was an hour and a half and third visit wait was two and a half hours. If you need to call the doctor you need to leave a voice recording and they will get back to you within 24 hrs, too bad if you are in pain. Saw the doctor for 15 minutes for initial visit and all other visits were handled by the P.A. Including post op visit. As a healthcare professional I felt Dr Polumbo is only interested in surgery and not so much about the patient. I would not recommend this doctor.

Dr. Palumbo provided excellent service: education, delivery, and thought "out of the box" to accommodate my schedule more efficiently. Results are better than expected. I am grateful for having our pt Total Hip. Dr P told me I would be a good candidate and believed in me , so I worked extra hard to be 'that good candidate". Thank you Dr. Palumbo and Excellent Team!

excellent job on my knee replacement. his skill has made my recovery a snap and relatively short.

I had a partial knee replacement Feb 22nd and I am so happy with the results. He is an excellent doctor as well as his PA. I don't know why I waited so long to have it done. I will tell everyone I know how great it is. I have my life back! My family & friends are shocked at my recovery time and how well Ive done. Entertianed company for 10 days after 3 weeks from surgery and took a 7 day cruise 5 weeks out! I have two friends contacting him for evaluation.

Dr. Palumbo did a total knee replacement on my decrepit arthritic knee that was so far gone every step was excruciating. He gave me a pain-free stride. He and his staff are beyond awesome! I love my new knee and I owe it all to them. You WANT these people to do your orthopaedic surgery. Truly a great team!
