Dr. Brian Weatherford, MD

This Dr kept changing my diagnosis so he didn’t have to help me. He has some really bad reviews about how he did surgery. I wouldn’t trust him he isn’t consistent.

This guy is not very knowledgeable.

The day my father was supposed to get cleared for a right knee replacement, he fell and broke his right hip. He was transported from a Skokie Hospital to a Glenview one to undergo emergency hip surgery the next day. Dr. Weatherford was to operate on him. Prior to this incident, he'd had his left knee replaced by another surgeon who was out of town when this unfortunate episode happened. We were unable to research possible available doctors to do the procedure due to the time restraint, so we trusted the hospital's call on the matter. Dr. Weatherford was made aware of these events, we (our family) asked if it was feasible to do both surgeries at the same, since they were on the same leg, the answer was no, due to the healing process and such. So the hip replacement was done. After we were shown the x-ray, the rod that was used stretched from the hip to just above the right knee. After rehab and healing, my dad went to get cleared again to now get his right knee replaced and was told… that would not be an option because the rod inserted for the hip was too long and would obstruct a knee procedure. He was told he would knee to have a surgery to cut the rod, heal from that and then have another surgery to replace the knee. For anyone, any surgery is not a walk in the park! We then went for a follow with Dr. Weatherford and he informed my dad and I that, "in hindsight, it probably would've been better to use a shorter rod." Since the hip replacement and rehab, my dad was somewhat able to walk with a walker, but the healing has gotten worse as his legs have gotten weaker due to lack of movement. He is now wheelchair bound. Upon exploring other options and multiple doctors visits, unless a miracle happens, he will never be able to walk. I'm writing this not to seek pity, but to make others aware of the importance to research a doctor for any procedure for any physical issue. I hope that no one has to ever go to a follow up visit for a doctor to tell them, "in hindsight...." It is a struggle everyday to see a man that was able before to not be able to do more and more things daily. The main thing now is to keep his spirits up because his body has already endured so much. It doesn't make it better that we live in a state that medically thinks, if a person has lived past the age of 70, they're considered to have lived out their quality of life and no medical malpractice justice can prevail from a matter like this. Please challenge and check all options before having any procedure done!

Well, my very first foot surgery ever and I want to warn anyone who has Weatherford, make sure you talk to someone other than Ashley, she's clueless and was NO HELP after surgery I had to call her a day before surgery to remind her that I had no pre-op paperwork, when she sends it she checked off the wrong surgery center, ha no idea what time surgery would be, never told me what I needed to do after surgery and even worse, never scheduled my therapy sessions for after surgery. Had i known i was supposed to have at least 6-7 post op therapy seesions, I would have booked them weeks ahead of time!!!! She never even explained that to me nor do I believe she cares There are no openings open and now they have to move people around to put me in I think all she really does there is put on lip gloss and twirl her hair all day Dr Weatherford is great but please make sure you scheduled your therapy ahead of time, make sure you purchase a knee cart of rollator BEFORE surgery… otherwise you will be using a walker which within a day or 2 will hurt the rest of your body since you are now putting all your weight on your hands and ONE foot I'm in extreme pain and not able to move much without having to immediately stop and take a breathe to relieve some of my back pain I hope this will help anyone who is having foot surgery for the first be warned and prepared for the next 2 - 12 weeks of healing God Bless
