Nasty. Doesn't listen.

I wish I had read the previous reviews before I saw Dr.Berg. It's difficult to find a psychiatrist who is covered by my insurance, so while in a bad situation I went in for an appointment. He pushed a SSRI on me without even listening to my reasons for wanting to avoid it. Once he had me on it he refused refills unless I came in for a full in person appointment instead of an over the phone consult (because he "can't charge insurance otherwise"). The appointments were horrid with him talking over me, spending most of time messing with his paperwork, getting key details of my past history repeatedly wrong, and interjecting his opinion instead of listening. He told me with certainty that all of my problems were due to lack of sleep since I had not slept well the night before (a rare occurrence). He is rude and difficult to deal with. I know insurance coverage is difficult but save yourself the copay and don't deal with this money-grubbing unprofessional who doesn't seem to care about his… patients.

Don't trust this doctor to treat ANYTHING as confidential. After assuring me that our conversation was confidential, I told him something and within an hour he called the patient and told him what I said, which only aggravated the situation with his patient that was already unstable. Plus he did not return my phone call.

Went to Dr Berg for about 4 or 5 sessions. Every appointment was cut shorter and shorter where the last appointment I timed and it was 37 minutes long. He took calls, went to the hall to speak with other patients, and would be on his phone reading emails. He did nothing but push meds and ask what I was there for again. I spent every appointment telling him the peoples names in my life and how they were in relation to my issues. Not once was I given advice or direction. Id also like to add...ASK for receipts of your "CASH ONLY" payment. He is a fraud. Im still being billed for 2 appointments that I paid for.

Insightful, compassionate, a life-saver. Dr. B. is the best.
