Dr. Bruce Snyder has the following 2 specialties
A neurologist is a physician who diagnoses and treats disorders of the nervous system which is comprised of the brain, spinal cord and nerves. These doctors do not perform surgery, but refer patients to neurological surgeons when they determine that surgical intervention is necessary.
Some of the conditions that neurologists diagnose and treat are epilepsy, aneurysms, hydrocephalus, Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, stroke, spinal disc herniation, and spinal disease.
In addition to using diagnostic tests like MRI, CT scans, EEG and EMG, neurologists also employ neurological testing to gauge muscle strength and movement, balance, reflexes, sensation, memory, speech, and other cognitive abilities.
A psychiatrist is a doctor with specific training in the diagnosis and treatment of mental illness.
He or she can not only provide the counseling necessary to both diagnose and treat a patient, but can also prescribe medication when needed. In some cases, a psychiatrist will only provide the medication and the counseling will be provided by another healthcare specialist, like a certified counselor or psychologist.
Like other doctors, psychiatrists employ diagnostic tools like CT scans and MRI in order to observe the structure and function of a patient's brain.
Once a diagnosis is made, these specialists may use behavior or cognitive therapy in order to address the patient's condition, or a multitude of other types of therapy, in conjunction with or in place of medication.

I was a patient of Dr. Snyder for about 2 years, being treated for peripheral neuropathy. I have been exceptionally pleased with the care he and his staff provide. He spent a lot of time during the diagnostic process, and ordered a number of blood tests to rule out possible causes.I found him personable, sympathetic, and caring, and under his care I received pain relief for the first time in years. I would not hesitate to recommend him.
He was less than interested in my medical history, which was critical, and had the nerve to infer that perhaps it should not be trusted because I suffered fromsevere clinical depression (under control for years). He did not believe me when I told him I had had an LP which indicated MS. (I am sending him the original copy from the lab....)His differential diagnosis was way off, as later proven by a second opinion. He even commented on my clothes: a black skirt mid-calf, sandals, and a white blouse --summer time. He found it exotic?? (about as exotic as a nun....) Totallyinappropriate comment. Very strange man and as far as I cantell incompetent as well.
this doctor insisted on a test that cost us a lot of money. After a test that this doctor insisted on.. we are out of medical money to do anything else.!!! This doctor never even contacted us after the tests he insisted on. We are even unable to get the test results that this doctor ordered. Because of this doctors orders, we can not afford to do anything medical for a long time.
