Dr. Bruce Evan Gollub, MD

Dr Gollub is very knowledgeable. He takes time with every single patient and has a heart for his patients. Someone commented about his concierge service to Medicare patients and as I dug deeper, I found out that most practices, unless geared towards Geriatric Care, have some type of required membership. I believe that we should not put a price tag on our healthcare. If we do not want to sign up for a membership, then we can most certainly find a physician that will meet our needs. I am grateful for Dr Gollub and what he brings to this community!

Seeking a doctor as a new patient, I contacted Dr. Gollub's office. I talked with his associate who explained the conditions under which Dr. Gollub accepted new patients. I was definitely taken aback by what she said. Besides the normal compensation that he receives from a medical billing there is a significant, additional "membership fee" required before being accepted by the doctor as a patient. It is approximately $400 quarterly or $1200 per year, with a $200 dollar discount (a mere $1,000 fee) for an annual membership. As the doctor is charging a normal billing for any professional work incurred, this struck me as simply a surcharge to obtain additional money. What is included in a normal billing if not sufficient compensation for work incurred? Why an upfront fee of $400+ before one even sees the doctor? If he doesn't meet the patient's standards, then the patient is already out of $400. This is strictly my own opinion, but to me there is definitely a level of greed in such a… advanced requirement. Based on this interaction, not only would I not seek this person for professional service but would advise anyone seeking medical attention to look elsewhere. Such "requirements" of someone who has what is supposed to be a humanitarian type occupation, strikes me as more worthy of a used car salesman than a true medical profession.

Dr. Gollub has provided me with exceptional care over all the years I've known him. He exhibits a degree of patience and *listening* caring which has been unique to my experience with doctors. I cannot recommend him highly enough.
