Dr Sue Burcu Onispir Kafali

Dr. Kafali was by OB during my pregnancy. I wasn't thrilled with her, but as I was having a healthy pregnancy I figured it was all right. The office was disorganized, the staff was rude, she waved off my concerns, but I figured as long as she was a good doctor those things were passable. Our daughter ended up having a severe neural tube defect. Dr. Kafali waited over a week to tell us, though the results were immediately obvious on the 20 week ultrasound. I thought I was coming in for a normal prenatal checkup. Instead, she told me there was something wrong with the baby and that I needed to see a Maternal Fetal Medicine Specialist. She wouldn't say what was wrong. She wouldn't give me an idea of severity. The entire thing lasted 6-8 minutes, and she left me alone in tears. The office recommended a MFM but would not provide a referral. I didn't know what was wrong with our baby, so I didn't know what kind of doctor to ask for or where to turn. It was so incredibly… stressful. Luckily my primary care physician came through with a referral. Getting my medical records from Dr. Kafali's office was like pulling teeth. When I finally got copies, they showed tests that were never ordered, checklists I never went through, conversations that were never had. It said that we had discussed the outcomes and severity of my daughter's condition, a condition I didn't know until that time that she had. Our daughter passed away. Dr. Kafali's office has not contacted us, which honestly is probably for the best. There's nothing they could have done to prevent what happened to her, but if it hadn't happened to me personally I would have a hard time believing the callousness and and lies we were treated to.

Awful physician. Misrepresents herself. Staff is awful. She does a lot of unecesssry surgeries. Don't do it!! Change doctors immediately.

I never write reviews for anything. But after my experience with Dr. Kafali I had to get this out there for other people to see. She comes across as busy but caring at the beginning. She talks to you so fast that it is hard to keep up with what she is saying. You feel like she is in a hurry but that she is leading you in the right direction and has your best interest in mind. So you just go with it, because it seems like the right thing to do and you trust your doctor to know the right thing. That is until your surgery is complete. Then she is just in a hurry to get you out of her office. After the surgery it was a bother for me to contact her. I felt as though she simply dismissed my concerns and told me to rest more. I am still having complications almost 4 months after the surgery and Dr. Kafali has offered no recommendations or offers of assistance. She pushes the issue to another Dr. saying maybe it is a GI problem or go have an ultrasound done without even doing an exam. I feel… that was the quickest way for her to get me out of her office was to send me for an ultrasound so that she could move on to everyone else that has the same appointment time as me still waiting to be seen. I had an appointment with a new gyn that actually talked through things with me and ran some tests to try to find a solution to the pain that won't go away. Dr. Kafali and her staff couldn't even get my ultrasound scan to my new Dr. in time for my appointment and then blamed me for not requesting it the correct way. Even though I had done exactly as her staff had told me to do. Dr. Kafali and her staff are extremely busy. So busy that they don't pay attention to what you are asking for or saying to them. The office staff is so disorganized and the wait time is ridiculous. Appointments are double and triple booked. I could go on and on about how awful this experience was but I think you get the idea. Look at the consistency in the bad reviews.... it's all the same.... in a hurry, doesn't answer questions, long wait time, pain for months after the surgery etc....

Listened to my every concerns compassionate. Dr. Kafali did my surgery and was with at the hospital even though it was Christmas. My family told me about how Dr. Kafali took her time answered their concerns after surgery. I'm so grateful to have such a great Dr. And truly blessed to have her when I needed her the most.

I had my first baby with her. She was kind all the time. She answered all of my questions.She encouraged me through the process, with the delivery. She is really an expert in her area.Would definitely recommend it. If I have my second baby I would definitely choose her.

if you are pregnant please don't go to dr khafali, she is rude, she always tells you everything is okay just take Tylenol 3. she will rush you out and doesn't answer your questions. she will have you take several exams and doesn't explain to you what wrong. she will never follow up with you. you will end up more confused than before. I regret going to her. thank God I found a good dr who cares about my issues. Dr. khafali is money hungry doctor. every time I have gone to see her she never once read my results, she always listens to music in her office. her appointment takes 45- 1hr wait only to see you for 5 minutes if you are lucky. I read that she is the best of the best but my experience with her was a nightmare. should you have an emergency, you will regret calling her. I wish I read the reviews before setting my foot on her door. I hope this helps someone out there. please get a second opinion don't trust this doctor.

She makes you feel comfortable when nervous,very good listener gives you options about your results

I went to her for the first time this year. She is great, makes you feel very comfortable with her and very dedicated to what you may be going through. She talks to you, make you feel more like a friend instead of a doctor. I will always refer a friend, or family member to her. I enjoy her services and will always continue to go to her.
