A pediatrician is a doctor who specializes in the regular care of children, as well as the diagnosis and treatment of illness in children. Young patients are often more complicated to treat because they are still growing and developing.
While pediatricians may sub-specialize in specific therapy areas like oncology, surgery, ophthalmology, and anesthesiology, in general, pediatricians provide services like vaccinations, health exams, and treatment of common ailments and injuries. In addition, pediatricians are trained to handle the complex emotional and behavioral issues faced by children, especially during puberty.
Pediatricians normally see their patients from birth until the age of 18, although some may agree to treat patients into their early 20s, if requested.

Daughter ended up in the emergency room with double pneumonia less that 48 hours after seeing this doctor. This doctor took very little time with my daughter even after an hour and 20 minute wait. She barely examined her and said he had "a virus" and prescribed a cough suppressant. She ended up being hospitalized four days on IV antibiotics, steroids, breathing treatments. I would avoid this doctor if you value your child's health.
Our daughter had a condition that is almost always mistaken for asthma and is always treated by ER doctors with steriods. Dr. Nguyen was able to step back and fit the symptoms to a rare condition. On one occasion she called a specialist that she refered us to to get us seen that same day.She is careful not to put a suggestion in a child's head when trying to find out what the child is feeling.
I liked her a lot. We have used her for 3 years and are very sad to leave due to a change in insurance. She is part of the Austin Regional Clinic, and I really LOVE that it doesn't matter what your needs are in your family, they have a doctor for it. About dr. nguyen, herself, she is friendly and very knowledgeable. No issues big enough to ever make me want to leave... honestly no issues at all.
