Dr. Camran Nezhat, MD

I had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Nezhat in 2010 after a long search for a physician that would attempt to remove my extensive endometriosis. I had been in debilitating pain for years, but every surgery resulted in the same result. "There is just too much endometriosis to get rid of." It did take two surgeries from Dr. Nezhat and two other specialists, but I was able to attend nursing school within a year of my surgeries and my quality of life is amazing. I love being a labor and delivery nurse, but could never have managed to attend nursing school, let alone work long hours without the help of Dr. Nezhat and his team of miracle workers!! Thank you to the good work you do!

I met Dr. Nezhat after having 20yrs of PCOS and Endometriosis struggles and endless treatments. In Dec 2017 I was taken to the hospital twice after passing out from severe abdominal pain. The first visit was locally and I was seen by a local OBGYN who wouldn't be able to do my surgery for 2 months and was going to perform a complete hysterectomy. I made an appointment with Dr. Nezhat on a Friday in Dec after finding him on the list of Drs who do minimally invasive surgery. I have had fantastic experiences with Stanford doctors in the past and had a gut feeling that he would be the same as I read some of his reviews both positive and negative. His office was amazing and accommodated me in seeing me a day early because I was in the hospital for a second time, this time at Stanford, which is 2.5 -3 hrs away. I could barely walk into his office that first day and was in excruciating pain. He did my exam and immediately found the problem, which other doctors had missed. After the… exam he grabbed my hand, looked me straight in the eye and said, "I am so sorry you are in so much pain. I don't want you to worry anymore. We are going to help you with this". I was so relieved that he could see all of the problems that were occurring right away and that he believed and was sympathetic to my pain, that I broke out in tears right there in his office. He and the other Drs in the office thoroughly informed me about the surgery and its risks. I scheduled my surgery that day and had it a week later and the only reason I had to wait that long was because of delays in approvals from my insurance. His office staff went above and beyond helping me with the issues I had with my insurance and were amazing from start to finish. Dr. Nezhat was able to only perform a partial hysterectomy and took the time to drain all of the 20+ cysts that I had on both of my ovaries, a total different outcome than that I would have experienced going to the former doctor. I am finally pain free after so many years! The pain of recovery was so minimal compared to the pain I was experiencing and I only have three perfect tiny little incisions along my upper bikini line. I was thoroughly informed about what to expect after surgery and was sent home with a packet of instructions and encouraged to call day or night even for the smallest question. I have since gone for my follow-up and have to say that everyone in the office as well as Dr. Camran Nezhat and Dr. Azadeh Nezhat greeted me as if I was part of their family with hugs and thank you's all the way around. This time I was crying from gratitude instead of pain. They are truly an office of angels! I would shout their praises from the rooftops if I could.

I felt like I was in a whole different world when coming to visit this doctor. We live only 1 1/2 hours away however for him I would have traveled across the world. Amazing doctor who helped my daughter out tremendously!!! She had endometriosis and he made her feel so special like she was his only client also performed several surgeries that made her feel 100% better. If you are having any issues with trying to have a baby or pain and suffering from female issues you need to call him.

Dr. Nezhat is the best doctor I have ever seen. I am so glad that I flew to CA to see him. Not only he is so good at surgeries, he cares about the patient. I had very server endometriosis and infertility issues. And he was able to solve all my problems in one surgery. He also accepts my insurance, which is not always the case especially for famous doctors. He gives me hope for my fight with endometriosis. I am so grateful and feel lucky to have him as my doctor.

I just had my follow-up appt w/Dr. Nezhat after a hysterectomy 3 weeks ago & I feel amazing! My issues were uber-painful and abnormally heavy periods which literally, took 10 days out of my life every month. I knew from googling my symptoms that I probably needed a hysterectomy but I was looking for a procedure less intense/invasive as the kind my mother had. Dr. Nezhat's name kept popping up, so I called his office and saw him. Dr. Nezhat isn't verbose but he is spot-on when he does speak to you. He looked at my face, pulled my lower eyelid down and said to the intern, "she is very anemic" - to which I was sent to the lab immediately for blood-work. I got a call on a Friday evening, after 6pm, from Dr. Buescher, one of the interns & she confirmed Dr. Nezhat's diagnosis. I was off-the-charts anemic and needed iron transfusions before attempting any surgery. Because I'm needle-phobic, I opted to load up on iron by taking Blackstrap Molasses supplements and Dr. Nezhat was fully… supportive. Follow-up lab work showed my red blood cell count was textbook perfect so I scheduled my surgery. My pre-op meeting was with another fellow, Dr. Paka and she was delightful. I asked her a ton of questions and she went over everything (repeatedly!) making sure I absolutely understood what I was getting into by having this procedure. I felt 100% confident and informed. Dr. Nezhat's practice of mentoring other surgeons did not bother me. The $2500 "co-surgeon" fee was billed to my BC insurance as out-of-network which BC covered 70% however I would pay it myself if I had to; getting the best treatment for ME is worth every penny. I was in contact with Dr. Buescher, Dr. King and Dr. Paka. All were very kind and very patient with me throughout the process. I highly recommend Dr. Nezhat and his staff and will refer him to anyone, friend or family who needs an awesome OB/GYN!
